I hated the guy when he was at Florida..but damn if it isn't refreshing to have a color commentator who knows what he's talking about. Actually explaining formations, blocking schemes, what the coaches are thinking at certain moments, etc.

He's very damn good at it. Hope fully he stays retired and works his way to the prime time games, I would like to not have the urge to turn the game off due to terrible commentary.

And why is Lou Holtz still on ESPN? It is to the point where it is just sad, like watching Dick Clark on New Year's Eve.

Meyer was excellent. I actually learned a couple things and I watched the Ohio St. game for ten minutes.

Put him in a booth with Sean McDonaugh and Kirk Herbstriet, and that should be your national championship game broadcasting team.

I couldn't agree more. Couldn't stand him as a coach, but he sure does help you understand the inner workings of the game better when he does cc.

I did find it absolutely ironic he did the Ohio State game.

I really like Urban in this role.

A whole lot better than his prior job.

At the other end of the spectrum, Craig James is doing color for the Cincy game Saturday. Neyland ought to be full just from people trying to avoid watching it on TV.
