About a week ago, someone mentioned Meyer's playbook on a Gator site. I found it and thought that I would share it. It only has 4 or 5 plays right now and more will be added.

Looking at the plays they have on there, they don't seem so bad IF the linebackers are smart. I feel pretty confident with the LB's we have, we won't be fooled much. That is, if the secondary steps up and allows our LB's to do what we are used to seeing them do.

Anyway, here is the LINK

No way. It looks like something somebody drew with a crayon.

hahahahahaha

I seriously doubt these days even a peewee coach would put his playbook on the net

I am sure that he is not going to put anything special out there....whatever that may be. But if you notice the white box below that explains when and where Utah ran those plays....it's certainly out of his playbook.

Be sure to check back next week for the next mind-boggling play... :D

Don't think so? You can buy it on ebay....or some of it anyway.

One thing about it, UT is suspect over the middle. And Meyer does run that QB option.

Do you really think that we will be suspect this season though?

Oh, deep middle....yeah, you're right.. Hopefully that will all fall into place by fall.

typical high school plays. If those are real Gators will Lose by 20 to 30 pts per game

It has to be somebody else's simplified rendition of the playbook. Helpful hint: in most playbooks the offensive linemen actually move too.

All that I know is that there are a bunch of Florida fans ooing and ahing over those 4 plays.....I don't get it.

They'll really be ooing and ahhing the first time Chris Leak tries that option and runs into a linebacker that's just as fast as he is.

That's what I'm talking about. Just think, our linebackers are the first real linebackers that Meyer will see too. I hope we shut him down.

The interesting thing will be to see how the system works with Florida's athletes. I think Meyer's offense is a lot like Hal Mumme tried at Kentucky and the one that Jim Donnan tried to run at Georgia. We know how those turned out.

Well, here is a glimpse of how it has gone so far....

"After learning intricacies like the permanent shotgun and man-to-man defense in just five practices, the Gators took Coach Urban Meyer’s playbook to the Swamp. The outcome - at least at the start - wasn’t pretty.

UF’s offense seemed confused at times. Fumbled snaps, dropped pitches and overthrown passes dotted the field. But a few miscommunications later, the Gators pulled off a trick-play Utah fans would appreciate."

At least they got the trick play..

The thing about that shotgun is that it won't fix Florida's main problem - finishing games. Florida could have easily won at least 3 more games last year if they had the ability to play with a lead and run the ball in the 4th quarter.

I'll never forget last year when they had the lead in one game with 3 minutes to go and on 1st down they threw a swing pass from their own end zone.

Yeah, Zook and company were a little crazy weren't they? I hated to see him leave!

We have got to beat UF this first time around. I don't think that I could handle losing to the Florida Utes....

Exactly... For any of you that actually took the time to pay attention to Florida's games last year, it wasn't that they were bad on offense, or even some of their defense -- It's just that their defense just completely let go at the end of the game, last 2-4 minutes. Except for the game against Miami, all their games were actually close. Zook could just not get his guys to finish.

Now given that Florida was actually close to having a decent/good season with Zook, that's why I fear Meyer, because he's an all-around better coach than the Zooker and he's working with pretty much all the same talent.

Yeah, he is a better coach and will make the Gators tougher. We would be foolish to think that Meyer is underestimating the SEC. I hope he does, but doubt he will.

One thing is certain though. Fulmer will be ready for Meyer's Gators and have the team ready. He has seen coaches come and go in this league and beat them all at some point.

True, but next year is our best shot at a title...

A good SEC record this next season will present a strong case for the national title. And I think voters everywhere will think twice before giving an SEC team the snub for the national title shot.

Good point Milo, but Tennessee will have to go undefeated. If we lose one game, we will probably be sent to our 15th spot for the rest of the season.
