"Dismisses" a kid from the team, then says "nevermind"

NCAAF Ohio State reinstates Storm Klein - ESPN

I thought the same thing when I saw this on ESPN. The kid pleaded guilty, I think, and had his charge reduced to a misdemeanor...but he still pleaded GUILTY!! Urbie has no backbone whatsoever. As much as it hurts to lose DR, I would much rather have a coach with a backbone. Remember, these kids are being taught life lessons about what they do through the coaches. If they just get suspended a game here and there, then the kids believe they can get away with anything the rest of their lives. Like DD said yesterday, it is A LOT like parenting. That's what these coaches are to the kids while they have them in the program, because most kids are a good ways from home. Now, you understand even more why MzTerry and other parents love DD. He's gonna discipline their child, if it's needed, just as the child's parent would, but he's gonna love them as well.

You know he was just waiting for some big news to come out from another program to make this announcement so maybe it would take some of the heat away from him.

What is wrong with what he did?? He put the kid off the team until things were clarified about what really happened. I know some of you hate Urban, but the guy can coach, and he takes care of his team and players. I hate Florida as much as the next UT fan, and don't really care for tOSU that much, but Meyer can coach.

Nobody said he can't coach. I implied that he has been notoriously lax with his dicipline at UF and seems to be doing the same in Columbus. This kid plead guilty, Urbie gets a sob story from the families (probably trying not to hinder the player's NFL aspirations), and uses that as an excuse to reinstate the kid that was supposed to be kicked off the team.
