if there's a thread on this already I apologize, but could someone update this thread as the kids commit? I'm not able to watch the game, and don't know where to find this info out...and can't look through the 40 something pages (currently) of the "official" thread.

thanks in advance.

Not much to report for the Vols. Bama, USCe, USCw, WV and FL have done fine. I'm sure I'm missing somebody, but you get the picture.

Not sure we'll see anybody this game. Willis....maybe, but maybe not.

Ambles is super, though! Haven't heard Willis' name...I think I've seen him in the huddle, but that's it. Dixon is playing great coverage, too. Palardy has the TN jinx...blocked FG.

Willis was in on the tackles on two of the first three plays.

Mosley Rolls with Tide

School: Theodore (Ala.)
Height: 6’3
Weight: 220
Position: Linebacker
Ranking: #14 OLB

C.J. Mosley was the first player to make his selection during the live television broadcast and Alabama is getting a great player, who has excelled in practice all week long.

EVALUATION: Biggest thing we noticed about Mosley is that he covers like a defensive back. You see him drop back in to coverage and he will run stride for stride with receivers and tight ends. He moves sideline-to-sideline as good as any linebacker in the game. He could us a little time in the weight room and get bigger and stronger to add some overall muscle mass, but his upside is extremely high and he did nothing to discount his ranking in the week of practice.
Anderson Breaks the Mold

School: Glenville High (Ohio)
Height: 5’10
Weight: 185
Position: Safety
Ranking: #12 S

Latwan Anderson is from a school that traditionally is a pipeline to Ohio State, but he broke the mold when he selected the Mountaineers.

EVALUATION: Anderson is an outstanding athlete that plays with great aggression. He is outstanding in coverage and is very solid in run support. Anderson has very good ball skills and excellent closing speed. Sometimes Anderson's aggression gets the best of him and he will get overly aggressive at times.

Wright not Bothered by Seahawks Talk

School: Corona Senior (Cali.)
Height: 6’1
Weight: 195
Position: Corner
Ranking: #16 CB

Demetrius Wright had no worries about the coaching situation at USC as he went ahead an picked the home-state power, which could find itself in the middle of a coaching search in a very awkward time just a month from signing day.

EVALUATION: Wright has great size and is a versatile defensive back that could play either cornerback or safety on the next level, but will likely end up at safety eventually in most of the analysts opinions who watched him action throughout the week of practice. He has some coverage skills, but would be ideal to be able to use him in coverage and in the box in college.

Hampton Says Yes to the Gamecocks

School: Darlington (S.C.)
Height: 5’9
Weight: 168
Position: Corner
Ranking #43 CB

Some analysts here felt that Victor Hampton may select another route than his home state school, but in the end he felt the most comfortable with the home state power, who is coached buy one of the most successful coaches in CFB history.

EVALUATION: Hampton is an aggressive corner that likes to use his hands at the line of scrimmage. He is not that big in stature, but he plays bigger because of his arm length, physical strength, and the way he can go up and get the ball. He could work on his back peddle a little, but he really breaks on the ball well with good speed. Even though he liked to press, he seemed comfortable when playing off the receiver as well.

Mathis’ Duck Call

School: Cass Tech (Mich.)
Height: 5’9
Weight: 174
Position: Corner
Ranking #15 CB

Dior Mathis

EVALUATION: Mathis was the best true cover corner on the West squad throughout the week of practice and had the chance to really work on his skills by going up against a receiver like Robert Woods day in and day out. He will need to become more physical on the next level to be

its good to have seen him push the other two caps aside and put on the UT hat but with usc troubles and pete carrol leaving ronald powell will probally go to flordia which i dont understand urbie resigned then unresigned but is still not going to be coaching for the next 2 years and why does wright still pick usc over tennessee when usc will be put on probation probally next year and they will not be able to play a bowl game or ncaa tital for a year or two

I kept hearing last night that there would be an offensive surprise today for us, but all of the announcements today have been on the defensive side of the ball. Did I miss something?

I know these are kids, but does anyone else find the whole "which hat am I going to pick?" a little played out? It seemed like each player NBC featured for their individual selection did the exact same thing.....hesitated, reached for one hat, put it down and then put on their selected team's hat. Its not a real entertaining game, maybe in upcoming years some of the high schoolers can do something different....like rip off their jersey and have the team logo on their undershirt or unveil their choice as a tatoo, that way they won't back out.

No doubt about the talent on the field today. Fortunately, there are plenty of talented footballers across this country that weren't invited.
We need OL and TE's. Let's go get 'em.
