USA post guys dominated. Did the Virgin Islands even have any PF or centers?

I am curious to see if Stokes is playing inside as strictly a post up guy or if he is playing more of the 4 and drifting out to 10-13ft range.

Team USA returns to action Sunday in Group A pool play at the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship. The U.S. faces Mexico at 12 p.m. (CT)

Team USA shot nearly 60 percent from the floor (59.3), while holding the Virgin Islands to an incredibly-low 15.5 percent (11-of-71) from the field.

D@mn, 15.5% ?

Not the game but a scrimmage and Mark Few commenting. Stokes shows up at about the 1:05 mark, he makes a nice 12 foot jumper just a little after that.

Great first game for jarnell.

I turned it on at halftime and when the 3rd quarter started they never took down the stats graphic from halftime so it was unwatcbable until about 3 minutes left in the 3rd. When the 4th quarter started Donovan put in a fresh 5 so I assume it was scrub time, I checked back periodically and never saw stokes again so he accumulated his stats in 3 quarters of play.

Do you really improve playing competition that bad?

Playing the Virgin Islands isn't by choice, it's part of pool play. As for getting better, the practice time against other bigs of his own skill level is extremely valuable.

US is blowing Mexico out right now, very balanced scoring in the first half Stokes has 3 pts. and a Reb. 58-26 at the half
