Not a single member of our football team has been to the post season......wow, that's what you call sobering.

Let me say this.

As a Vol National, I love BUTCH JONES.

No homo, homo...whatever. He's our savior. He will win on the field like he's doing off the field.

GO VOLS DAMN IT!!!

While true, that may not be such a bad thing. A huge percentage of our roster doesn't have the stench of playing under Dooley, where all they knew was losing. Most of these are just out of high school where they knew winning, and are under CBJ and staff whose track record says they know how to win. We also have veterans who seem to have embraced this staff, and have become leaders on this team. I think they have kicked that losing mentality as well. I'm looking forward to seeing this team in year 2 under Butch. Just win 6 and this program will be well on its way to being restored among the elite.

I too am a believer that Butch Jones is the coach to get us back to prominance. His intensity and fire has to be catching to those around him, otherwise I don't believe they will be around long. This season will be a tough one but I believe this team will be fun to watch and competitive with improvement week to week. If the football bounces our way a couple of times it could be a special season. I think a bowl game is reachable.
GO VOLS

Butch never changes his story, I like that about him. He shoots straight and does not hype himself or his staff. He has character and that has been missing in UT's coaching staff since Fulmer was released.

Brick by Brick

Agreed that this is sobering, but while 0% have been to the post season, I would expect that number to increase to 100% by January 2015.

I've seen a lot of football coaches that I didn't like to watch do interviews or even listen to their BS but with CBJ I get the feeling that he is the real deal from personal relationships with players, coaches, parents, administrators, former players, and alumni. I actually enjoy watching his interviews and like the way he handles the media without being a smartass or condesensing. Class is the one word I would use describe him. He appears to be energetic, hardworking and smart. Is he a coaching Einstein on the field? Don't know yet. If not then talent has a way of overcoming shortcomings sometime (twss). Anyway, I for one think we have a rising star in the coaches ranks and think brighter days are ahead. GBO and have a great day.

I think it would be so awesome to see if Butch and our young team can hang around and give everybody a nice big **** Burger to eat. Butch is going to get it done eventually I just wish it could happen sooner than later. GO VOLS!

Don't we all! Volnation is about to explode from wanting to win big! If we can upset Bama or Florida at home this year, I think there will be no way security can hold the fans back. A lot of frustrations waiting to be let out.

I didn't expect Rivals to have our class ranked as high at is it at 5th. They don't even have Williams or McKenzie as 5 stars.

The "panel" on ESPN yesterday looked at the UT schedule and one said," other than UTC, can you look at a game and say that's a guaranteed win"? Wow, that was a slap in the face if I have ever heard one. I think that we have a lot of bulletin board motivation and that should be at the top of the list.
I was also amused at Greg McIlroy saying that Arkansas would only win one SEC game and that would be against LSU. We will see about that. Thjey MAY only win one game as they were o-fer last year, but I bet it won't be against the Chief.

The SEC Network, so far, has done one sorry job with their hires (Fartbomb & Opey -McIllory) being at the top of the list. I hope their other coverage is better since I just ditched directv & got Dish!!

Any who...I don't know of another coach besides Jones that could recruit like he's done at a traditional powerhouse like Tennessee who has been in the toilet the last 5-6 years. SO glad we have him. Hart is due a lot if credit for that hire!

Not so sure that Hart deserves all kinds of credit for Jones. Not like a he went out on a limb and snagged a Dark horse in Jones. He was likely the third on the list and should/could have easily been the first from what we have seen so far.
Just my opion thuogh... and not a knock on Hart either.
