Little Mrs. Tight pants(Baylor)will have a pretty good team that may be a tough out. She has the height that can possibly give Genno a run for his money. I also believe that if we are hitting on all eights, with Diamond shooting and Russell dominating in the post, with help from Graves and Reynolds, we will be a force to deal with. We need a dominating consistent shooter and I think Diamond is that person. Carter needs to somehow get her confidence back as a shooter. I also believe that Te'a can be a wild card when she in the game. Her high school videos indicates that with her speed she can be disruptive. I may be wrong but videos of Meme show that she is a player with rebounding capabilities, though she is 5'11". There is a video which shows her dunking a basket ball. Baring the enjury bug and a lot of foul trouble, the Lady Vols should be A okay.

ANYONE? How in the hell is North Carolina ranked? Do they even have enough players to field a team JK, But seriously, whoa!

On point!

I really think their are going to be 5 legit teams that should be in the final 4 (Uconn, SC, ND, TN, BAY) when it's all said and done. Obviously only 4 can make it, but if any of these teams fail to make the elite 8, that's really sad.
I think the rest of the top 10 are going to be good challengers, but they are not mounting up with the talent that these top 5 teams have on their roster.

As we have seen in the past, if a team gets a hot hand with the 3 point line, anything can happen, but talent "should" win out.

What will be key, as always, will be getting a number 1 seed. Who has the best chances at that with current schedules?

UCONN - only loss option would be ND this year, only because they will be without their 6'5 center, but they are home, so they will win. Even with a loss, garuntee #1 seed

ND - they will be tricky this year, because we don't know who their star will be just yet. Games they could lose UCONN, Org. State, Tenn, @Duke, @Louis @FSU. Out of top 5, I think they have the greatest chance of the 2 seed only because of their tough schedule with losses.

SC - Uconn and Tennessee would be their only chance for losses, possibly 2 times with Tenn. That's still easily good enough for a #1 seed.

Tenn - we have a tough schedule, I am a little biased :p but with our team this year, we should have no more than 3 losses. Chances being Tex, Nd, Org St, SC. We have to learn how to 'put teams away'. I think we have the team to take care of business this year to do that.

Baylor - with their super watered down cupcake schedule, the only team they are playing is Texas. Oklahoma might play them close, but no victory. So Tight Pants has guaranteed her team a #1 seed due to the fact they could go undefeated or with 1 loss.

Teams with the best potential to prove me wrong:
Florida State, Maryland (only plays uconn and ohio state for chances for losses could be a#1) Texas,
Just my opinion. I'm excited for a great season!

Good breakdown, we can be a force to deal with. I would love to see the Lady Vols get into the final 4 and kick a little UCONN butt. I believe that dreams sometime come true. Just getting to the final 4 will open the door for many recruits listing Tennessee as their top choice. Go Lady Vols!!!!!ARE YOU READY FOR SOME LADY VOL BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!

I believe if we can make it to a Final Four this year (and especially if we win it) Parents (and fans) will no longer question whether or not Holly can get it done/is legit and we would more than likely get the top recruiting classes for 2017 and 2018 and the program will be back. I think having Holdsclaw at practice (and hopefully more of our Alum will return to Knoxville this season and during the tournament) will only add to Holly's efforts of getting the program back to the premiere school that all young girls want to go to and play!

I like the idea of the greats coming back to Tennessee to help carry on the pride of being a Lady Vol. I would like for one of these greats to be part of our coaching staff. They can inspire young players to want to be part of the best program in history. A program that does not use back stabbing ideology to recruit players from other schools. I agree if Holly can get the Lady Vols to the final four she will, and well deserved, be considered a very good coach. You do know somebody will find something to complain about.:good!:

I think there ranked to high for a preseason poll, around 7th or 8th would make more sense to me

that is just because of the new players and we will need to see how well they play together first

of course I don't pay much attention to polls, till they have played a couple of weeks first

It's tough to go back and see how optimistic we were a few months ago. Other threads were even more sure that we were a guarantee for the final four.
