And that's after having absolutely obliterated the 100m record previously at these championships.

Seems the green and gold crew is having some odd doping issues. Wonder what's there. Populations that small don't generate that many athletes that much better than the rest of the world.

I have been to Jamaica, and basically everybody there is in crazy shape.

The 4x100 Jamaican relay team also ran the 2nd fastest time ever because Bolt ran up too fast on the anchor leg of the relay. Usain Bolt was the 3rd leg and was actually pulling away a little from the guy that was one lane inside his. :eek:lol:

I think that he slows down just a bit before the end of each race just so he can keep beating his old records :p

Unreal spead. I wonder what the wall is for human speed in the 100M

I actually think this is a fascinating question. There *is* definitely a limit. And if anyone says otherwise, I will be happy to tell you how dumb you are.

I believe scientists have done some pretty comprehensive studies on the fastest a human being could ever throw a baseball. I don't recall what the limit was, but I think current players are pretty close. The limiting factor is the shoulder tendon (or is it ligament). In other words, a man could never throw a baseball [X] miles per hour, because the amount of force required to do that would literally rip his arm out of the socket.

The same type of limiting factors apply to sprinting...except obviously not with the shoulder.

I'm no physiological scienctist, but I'm gonna toss out 9.3 as my estimated asymptote.
