What, you didn't think there was going to be an appeal?

I think part of the reason the sanctions were so heavy-handed was just in case an appeal got any real traction.

It's rare that the ncaa reduces sanctions in response to an appeal

That said, yes of course USC was going to try to appeal this

I knew they were going to appeal, but the ncaa does not need to back slide. It will show them as weak and soft. Now if Bush goes ahead and cuts a check to the federal government for back taxes on that money, then thats admiting guilt. There appeal will have no traction then.

It will be enjoyable watching those guys wither down to nothing....Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of people.
