Got family that goes to USC, and they've been hearing that a man by the name "Tressel" may be the new HC at USC.

Heard the same things from a guy who's pretty informative in Michigans athletics. Says the same rumors are circulating on Ohio States campus

Doesn't make much sense to me but, apparently Tressel has been talking to the AD

Didn't realize USC had a vacancy

For the life of me I dont understand the fascination with Tressel. He was in a talent rich state where almost every to recruit wanted to be a buckeye with a weak league and he still managed to lose 1-2 games per year. Add in that he is now 2 for 2 in cheating at different schools, who would want to hire him?

I say that's only a rumor. I don't care for Kiffen, but he seems to be doing okay out there and Tressel was deemed a cheater which is the last thing USC needs right now.

This is rediculous. They aren't even in the market for a coach. Where does this stuff come from, anyway? I don't like Kiffin any more than the next guy, but USC was a really, really good team by the end of the season. They would have won the division this year if not for probation. No way they don't start next year at least in the top 15. Higher if Barkley comes back.

Drunken ramblings is my guess. Something I know too well.

WTF are you talking about?....Kiffin isn't in any danger of losing his job at USC.

Amen. Ohio St has always been one of my least favorite schools.

Tressel sniffed at NC once. Other than that what has he really done. Win a conference that hasn't had a national contender in almost 15 years

It's well known that new USC AD Hayden has Kiffin on a short leash. Saw an article on CNNSI where a lot of well respected former coaches talked about how Kiffin was growing up and is a good coach. I just can't see them making a change unless he bolts for the NFL, but that place is "supposedly" his dream job. I think Tressell will end up as an assistant in the NFL.

Tressel is looking at a 3 year show cause just like Pearl got, don't think USC would go for that.

What has he done? Played games overly conservative, failed to utilize players to their full potential (see Pryor), and been absolutely boat raced against national title contenders from other conferences, even though Ohio St. was recruiting elite athletes, as well.

USC? As in University of Southern California?

If it is the USC we all know and love (or hate if you aren't me), not a chance in hell.

I know Haden hates Kiffin but he wouldnt dare get rid of him now. They are a top 5 team next year with Barkley back.

Haden does not hate Kiffin. In fact, Haden was on the three-man committee (before he was AD) that recommended that the then USC AD, hire Kiffin.
