Disagree. I think he is at Tennessee as long as Tennessee is winning and as long as the school will keep him. He named his kid after Knoxville... It would be a rash decision to name your child after a school if you weren't planning on staying there as long as you could. JMO.

i dont think lane has any intentions of moving from ut. it's not like he can exactly leave ut for a more storied program? there just isn't really a step up from knoxville if he gets us winning again.

Why would he want to USC? Layla loves Knoxville. Their kid is named Knox.

No comparisons: Lane Kiffin, Vols focused only on UCLA Bruins this week GoVolsXtra

"Well, I think they (UT officials) already have a contract," Kiffin said. "I think they have a contract with SC six years from now or something like that (which) was already done. I have really not thought about it at all.
"We really have too much to do here this week finding a way to win to worry about six years down the road."
The future schedule appears to be booked with a series with Oklahoma slated to start in 2014, another with Nebraska in 2016 and then Ohio State in 2018. Those dates could all be changed and athletic director Mike Hamilton didn't return a call to the News Sentinel, but either way Kiffin is obviously only focused on the Bruins this week.

I think Kiffin will stay if we pay him like we should...iam more worried about our assistans eddie gran and orgeron etc.

Pete Carroll lost assistants. I will be more worried if we do not lose assistants because it will mean we are not experiencing incredible success.

We will be fine when we lose assistants. I expect Gran and Thompson to leave within 1-2 seasons for bigger jobs for themselves.

i thought in the future schedules that we will scheduled to play the likes of Oklahoma, Oregon, and (someone else not real sure) for home and homes. so am i gettin this right that we could possibly pull usc and one of those teams, plus an SEC schedule all in the same season?

utadmikeSince Lane mentioned it-we do have a verbal to play SoCal in 21 and 22, but no contract yet. Another great series for the Vols and our fans

Per Mike Hamilton's twitter page.

Agreed! Layla said she never wants to leave Knoxville and her kids love it too. And naming your new born child after the city of your school is saying how they both feel. His dad followed him here, he has top of the line facilities and one of if not THE greatest stadium in college football. I dont think he is going anywhere unless he is forced out and I dont see that happening!

12 years from now? I wonder if Lane will even be here then. This is like the Ohio State series - it's not something I'm thinking about / looking forward to right now - too far off.
