Why are Kiffin and co. taking two quarterbacks in the same class especially with their limited schollys?

The two are Cody Kessler and Matt Wittek.

I could care less about USC....they are on their way to obscurity

Not if they keep getting guys like this..

WeAreSC.com - Farmer commits to USC

Farmer, who is No. 13 in the ESPNU 150 and the No. 2 wideout in the country, is the 17th commit to USC's class, which is ranked 13th in the country right now

Now don't get me wrong I hate rivals and ESPNU trying to tell us who the best players in the country are but I've seen this guy play and he is a beast.

My point is, is when you have very few schollys you cant afford to give them to multiple qb. I mean you can be a very good college football team with a mediocre qb.

USC is going to be able to sign over 20 guys this year because they have several backcounts.

Well you have a coach who has actually ran a division I program thinking that having options at QB is important vs a guy who....wait a minute, how many games have you coached again? I'm trying to establish some credibility for ya :)

They got guys like that last year(3 5* receivers), and the year before that, and the year before that, and teh year before that. And guess what? They suck.

USC fans don't realize how good of a coach Pete Carroll was, and conversely, how poor of a coach Lane Kiffin is.

Haha wasn't claiming to be, just wanting to hear some opinions on why.

So who are some of these "very good" teams with "mediocre" qb's. For the most part, it's the other way around. In college - much more so than in the pros - a good qb makes all the difference on the world.

Would you call Oregons qb a very good qb? I doubt it.... he is ok.

He is much better than mediocre. He is good, and on a great team. That works, as does being a great qb on a good team (see Auburn). A mediocre qb on great team leads to results like LSU had this year. If they had just "good" talent, they would have lost 5-6 games this year. QB is the biggest difference maker in college football. If you don't have great talent everywhere else, you need a great qb to compete at a high level.

Let see, Darron Thomas has 28 Passing TDs and 7 INTs.

He also has 5 rushing TDs so that pretty much makes it 33TD to 7 INTs with a passer rating of 151.8

i'd say he's better than ok. He's damn good.

Did not realize he had that good of a season. And I'm not disagreeing that a great qb helps a team, I mean there is no denying that. I'm just simply stating that if a team is stacked with talent they can have a mediocre qb and be a very good ball team.
