Pipe dream from the start, and Fisher himself has come out and said he wants no part in drama that's gonna be surrounding the USC coaching search.

He is the #1 choice for USC fans though.

I think he has a job already. I have no idea how he still has that job; but until he is relieved of that duty, I don't see why he would take a college position. And to those of you who take offense to that; look up the number of years he has finished .500 or below. It is surprising.

I would not be surprised if they make a call to Jack Del' Rio in Jacksonville. He is a USC alumni.:ermm:

Fish said he wasn't interested and Adams wouldn't let him go.

I wish he would. He's an astoundingly mediocre coach to have been with the same team so long. (playoffs 6 of 17 years and a win % < 55%)

I respect Coach Fisher, I think many of the Titans problems stem from the front office and the repuatation of being "cheap" in addition to draft picks not panning out. However, should a change be made, I would hope for Cowher.

I just cant see Fisher going out and recruiting..

I can see Del Rio going to USC if he gets canned from Jax. Otherwise, I say Riley is the top candidate.

When you've been in the league for that long, you're gonna have that kind of a record. The NFL in the salary cap era is meant for parity, and Fisher has gone through two rebuilding processes and a franchise relocation.

He's 39-25 over the past 4 season, with 2 playoff appearances and barely missed the cut in the other two. The Titans finally have a competant, responsible GM in Reinfeldt too. Plus, it looks like JF has his first franchise QB since McNair. It'd be a mistake to force him out now, especially with no superior replacement (Cowher ain't gonna happen).

Not likely considering CPC is looking at 7 mil per in Seattle.

The AP is now reporting that Carroll isn't leaving yet.
They have been saying that since late last night but everyone close to the situation on ESPN and everything has said that its a good as done, they just have to interview the minority coaches and what not

Espn just said it is 100% going to happen. Also said Lane as a possiblilty, and Sarkisian if they miss out on top 3 - mike riley, Fisher, and Del Rio. Lane better refute this soon or recruits will start jumping ship. I think, if he leaves us right now, it would be incredibly classless and leave us with no recruits in a big mess.. But I honestly think he would go.

AP mentioned something about Carroll not be ing the president. I know they fired the pres and gm. Does Carroll want to be president also?

He said the only way he would do it again is if he had full control and the Seahawks are willing to give it to him

They won't come after Lane IMO

Really? Compare his record to the 2 other coaches with similar tenures over the past 2 decades.

Fisher-6 winning seasons out of 15, overall winning percentage .553
Cowher- 11 winning seasons out of 16, overall winning % .623
Bellichick-10 winning seasons out of 15, overall winning percentage .617

Fisher is easily the most overrated coach in the modern era of the NFL.

For those of you looking at "all the years under .500" let's not forget the few years spent in limbo. No coach has had to go through that, let alone survive it and go to a super bowl. I for one will take him as long as he's willing to stay.

I really hope you are right. Honestly, with all of the NCAA stuff already plaguing USC, can't imagine they would go after Lane who has already stirred up the NCAA here, even if it is only for secondary stuff. IT has received a lot of bad press and I don't think USC needs more of that right now.....

I do think Lane should come out in the media and let people know ASAP that he isn't going anywhere. They did mention his name on ESPN which could cause some recruits to squirm. We've picked up so much momentum in the last week on the recruiting trail to let a rumor mess things up.

Disagree.....Cowher and Bellichick have owners that will put money into their organization, Bud Adams won't spend money
