USC suing the NCAA for unfair sanctions

Did not read it all. NCAA is a voluntary membership organization. USC is free to disassociate and play by whatever rules they like. If they're looking for a remedy, there's the door.

Did you bother to read the first sentence? Apparently not. If the NCAA isn't following their own guidelines, as USC is accusing, USC has every right to file a claim.

The NCAA has never been too concerned with their own guidelines. They do what they want, how they want.

I'm totally convinced that Reggie Bush was getting funded by an agent. But, if USC can take a dig at the NCAA, I'm all for it.

It's not necessarily about whether USC was guilty. It's how the NCAA handled the situation and if the punishment fit the crime, per the NCAA's own guidelines.

Individual schools have little leverage with the NCAA. The Power Conferences need to organize on their own and determine what they want the future to look like for them. If the NCAA isn't going to reform, then say goodbye to them.

I personally think there should be 2 organizations. Let the NCAA handle the smaller schools.

Ridiculous to see how fair the NCAA is one has to look no further than Boehiem and Tyndall, UNC cheating scandal vs Pearl BBQ

The only schools that have any pull with the NCAA are the basketball blue bloods. The NCAA makes most of it's money from March Madness and is more than happy to go after the Ohio State's and USC's of the world for their pound of flesh. UNC, in particular, has an incestuous relationship with them which is one of many reasons they've flown under the radar and escaped punishment for their massive scandal.

Good grief, no. So much stupid today. It's spreading all over the entire board.

The comments of Rodney Uphoff, the coordinator of appeals, makes it seem like USC's decision to hire Kiffin in the wake of an ongoing investigation contributed to a prejudicial outlook on their findings. I hate Kiffin as much as anyone and I'm glad he failed at USC but his hiring should not have been a factor in the USC sanctions. This also contributes to the selective enforcement beliefs among critics of the NCAA. Quite simply, they play favorites and they allow personal emotions to dictate their actions (or inaction).
