If you really play it by the book... USC has only won 1 national title. The first year they did get shafted... but if you wanna go there then go ahead and say auburn one a share last year as well. Its absolutely rediculous to say this would be there third.... im kinda sick of everyone on there ban wagon.. what do you all think??????

Well, they DID win a National title both years, even if they did share it one year. But I do agree I'm tired of everyone being tucked into their jocks.

That program is loaded with talent and we'll be hearing about them for yrs to come. Still hard to believe how bad they spanked OU.

The childish part of me wants to say, "Wrong, we won it all in 2003, and USC is just trying to convince itself that they will 3 peat if they win it again this year." On the other hand, I think the whole issue is dumb, because we don't have a playoff. It's the only way to produce an undisputed champion. When you base your champion on polls, there's never just one champion. I mean, literally, if I had the money, I could make my own poll that sez LSU won it last year by beating Florida, who was our lone loss in 2003, and by doing so...Oh never mind I don't know where I'm going with this. My point is, we need a playoff. No two ways about it.

Auburn wouldnt get a share...USC was outright last year because they were number 1 in all polls....they shared 2 years ago because they were number 1 in a poll....so yes they have won back-to-back

i thought that the ncaa recognizes the bcs champion as its outright champion. thats why it was set up, to make sure there are no ties. i could go out and start my own poll and claim that ut won last year, but would it count? it wont matter, if usc doesnt win this year, no "3-peat" will be possible and some wont even recognize the 1st anymore.

i doubt your poll would count....the AP poll counts because its a real poll....not made up like yours.....and they consider their number 1 the nat. champ. because they arent in alliance with the BCS...they are an independant poll.....and if u made ur own and called UT the champ a lot of people would call u an idiot probably....a lot of teams would get it before UT last year.....

Well, I consider the AP poll to be THE POLL. So if AP chooses someone different from the BS poll, then I'm going with the AP

college football bases the national championship on two polls. ap poll, and the coaches poll. win either, and you are a national champion. any other poll does not count.
