....and Carroll was so good to him. Just wondering how his relationship with the new staff will go. I think it might be kind of telling.

Uh, do you have a link to the story or some sort of description on the situation?

Brave kid. What a feeling to know that you are losing your sight the next day.

Makes all problems you think you have seem very small.

He will put Layla on that one. She did not like the soup kitchen very much.

Anyone remember seeing him on Gameday and Lee Corso extended his hand for the kid to shake?

Cripes.

I remember watching this story and thinking "oh I hope USC wins for this kid." It was/is a very touching story. & I also remember Lee extending his hand, I cringed for a second.

I think it was far worse. I'm pretty sure I remember Pete telling him to "Come back and see us." It was quick, and harmless, but word vomit none-the-less.

I can't really talk. I do stuff like that all the time to Ray up on the Hill at UT. Every time I catch myself just too late, and think "damn" as I walk out the door.

I thought Pete Carroll did a great job with this young man. I don't see Kiffin ever taking the time to do something like this he is pretty self serving

He did a short interview last month here-

An Interview With January 2010’s ?That Fan of the Month?: Jake Olson, USC?s #1 Fan ThatFan.com — Are You That Fan?

That Fan:
What are your goals for the future?

Jake Olson:
I want to be a professional golfer when I grow up. I want to be the first blind person to win the Masters.

That Fan:
So you golf now?

Jake Olson:
Yeah, I do. Right now I’m getting lessons and if you have the right mechanics everything works out, and I actually play pretty well. I typically shoot between an 88 and a 92, so I try to play bogey golf.

Holy crap...I shoot worse than that sometimes and i'm not at a disadvantage

Yeah, that part got me, too. If a majority of weekend golfers were honest in their scoring, they'd be thrilled to card between 88-92 on any given day. I would.

I shoot that on the front half.
