USC's first defection

Jones, who was granted a release from Southern California last week,

this guy was leaving before the ruling ever came down. He had medical issues

I saw that, but he knew it was coming down soon. And the issues aren't so bad that he can't go play for another team apparently.

not what the other article said. This sounds exactly like the Negedu situation

new USC coach Lane Kiffin said of Jones: “I’m not very positive about the possibilities of him playing here. I don’t know how to describe it from a medical perspective. There’s a serious concern that hits or a number of hits could lead to permanent damage.”

and anyone saying they knew USC was going to be hit like that is lying

I didn't say it was related to yesterday. The pending NCAA's ruling wasn't a big secret.

“First defection” clearly implies it was related to yesterday. Otherwise what does “First defection” mean; first since what?

Sounds like this kid could be a liability regardless of who takes him, considering the severity of his neck injury.

The severity of the sanctions certainly was a big secret. Acting like this was the first domino to fall as you suggested in the thread title is misleading. Regardless of the sanctions, he was leaving anyway.

Clearly in your mind perhaps. First from the whole NCAA investigation was my thought.

The NCAA investigation has been going on for 4 years. You are trying to tell us that he is the first to leave in 4 years. Try again.

You try again. You can keep trying to frame it to make it sound like what you thought I said, but I meant the first from this whole mess. Not just the ruling handed down yesterday. I'm not aware of any players that have left from this but then again I'm not a USC historian. If you have a list please enlighten me.

I didn't have any intention of making it look like that(people can read the link I posted and see that it said last week). And I didn't know that USC doctors wouldn't clear him because the article didn't say so.

Good grief, man. Next time just go with "oops, my bad"...types up quicker, is considerably more accurate an would have kept you from coming off like a buffoon.
