User Image Question

I am trying to upload an image to use as my avatar, and am having issues. I have tried both uploading the pic to photobucket and linking directly to it with Option 1 in User CP, and also uploading it directly from my computer to the site via Option 2...neither work. Both give me the error, "Unable to save image." The pic is a 100 x 87 pixel .jpg that is roughly 32k in size. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
