Last year was great. Possibly the most exciting UT basketball season ever. It was a great ride. Coach Pearl showed that he can adjust his style according and we have tasted serious NCAA Tourney success. The future for UT basketball is the brightest it has ever been.
However, there is one thing that is holding us back to a slight degree. Lack of players in the league. Yes, C.J. Watson is in the league. But that is only one and he's a backup PG for a terrible organization. Not taking away from anything C.J. has done, but kids really don't pay attention to that. Tobias has NBA potential. Scotty does too. I think Wayne will make the NBA. A slight chance J.P. does. We need more players in the league to be frank. Not only that, we need them to be successful. They need to be seen playing important minutes. It might take a couple more years, but that would do so much for our program, and put us over the hump to become an elite program.
Coach Pearl has been quite amazing for the program. He has done a great job here. He's not perfect, and there are things that he needs to improve on, but I'm very, very confident he can lead UT to heights never seen before. We are almost there as a program to be reckoned with for a while. I can't wait to see what the future holds!
Go Vols! :hi:
