Evaluators aren't coaches. Sites grade a player on athletic ability, not how they fit into a scheme. A 3star to Rivals may be a 4star to a particular staff depending on scheme fit
But coaches are evaluators and those who do it best are usually the one's who win the most.

Clemson won their first NC with a good amount of 3* and very average recruiting.

There are always outliers. But is what Clemson did the rule? Far from it. People can try and convince themselves that stars don’t matter but the actual data says the exact opposite.

The bottom line is the team with the most highly ranked players win the vast majority of the NCs. There is a reason why the same teams make the playoffs every single year. They have the most talent.

If UT gets this guy, it would open up a new pipeline.

When was the last time Tennessee had a football player from Utah on the roster?

Would not open a pipeline, but it wouldn't hurt. We just have to be able to get some guys from the Far West every now and then that we want

Yeah - I think NCAA14 says you have to have 5 from the state on the active roster before it’s a “pipeline”
