Every year I anticipate the start of college football. Every year I anticipate watching the Razorbacks compete against the best talent the nation has to offer. I realize that Arkansas is not a national powerhouse, but does that mean I should not support my team no matter what? You can bring up series records all day long. I'm sure that as great as the TN football team is, they don't have a losing series record to anyone. That's great. Remember one thing, you don't win games or championships on what you did last year. Arkansas and Tennessee both had seasons last year that we would like to forget. This week we play a game in what some of your fans have called a high school stadium against a team that some of the VolNation thinks is a bottom feeder. I am looking forward to cheering on my favorite team as they make the Razorback Nation proud and do what the only thing that truly matters for a college team on Saturdays, win.

You may be taking the smack talk too seriously. We all feel the same way about college football.

By the way, I have read on several other team's boards that Arkansas has the nicest stadium in the SEC.

They figured since the rest of the town was a mud hole they might as well build a nice stadium.:)

It is nice, but only holds around 75,000. We could easily fill it up into the 90,000s.

We do have one of the nicest stadiums in the NCAA and when they complete the renovation one of these days our capacity will be much higher.

While I like smack talk as much as the next guy, I guess I got the feeling that some here felt we didn't have any reason to be proud of our accomplishments this year. We have a great season going and look to get better. As Hog fans, we usually wonder if we have a chance to win a game. This year, we wonder how much we'll win by. It's something we haven't had in a long time so forgive those of us that seem cocky or arrogant.

At least we're not like LSU fans.:)

Actually Northwest Arkansas and Fayetteville are very nice. It's not as big as Knoxville, but it is nice. Go to Dickson Street after the game and you'll have some fun.

If I wasn't a poor college student I would make the trip out there.:) I have been through Arkansas once, going West on 40 heading to the Fiesta Bowl to watch us win an NC.

I have been there as well as War Memorial and I must say I was quite impressed with the Hogs and their fans. Granted at the time they looked forward to basketball season in the 90's. One memory really sticks out in my head, is when I was with the pep band wearing our uniforms (Polo's), we stopped to eat at their UC. When it became obvious the place was too crowded, me and some friends thought we would have to stand and eat with our horns, etc. But a couple of Hog fans got up and asked us to take their seat, which we did, and then realized that they were not done eating. Now that's hospitality!

If we don't win Saturday, it's going to be miserable being a Vol fan here.

But it's been nice this week, with the focus on the game and ESPN coming to town.

Shockingly beautiful little town(entire region, for that matter), INCREDIBLE stadium...all true. However, the post was about taking harrasment from Hog fans while living in Arky. Don't say jack if you can't take 12-2 coming back @ ya. Are you guys for real....I mean you show up over here talking smack WEEKS before the game and you can't take a 12-2 reminder without pulling a Patrick Henry???? Come on, you guys are fun and all, but go to the Wal-Mart pharmacy and check on that Zanny script...

Dude obviously has never been to Fayetteville. If you haven't road-tripped to a UofA game...make the trip.

Agree completely.....no way for affordable tix this year though. That NW region is becoming quite a retirement mecca, too. You guys better be careful or you'll be over run with yankees coming for the cheap greens fees telling how they do it up north.
P.S. there is a little inn that's been bought by Clarion on the outskirts of Springdale as you head in toward Fayetteville that has a 4* rating adjoining it....I think it's like Rogers Mill or something. One of you guys give the name of that place.....PERFECT place to stay and have a truly memorable meal.

That's it !!! I stay there when I go to the area on business. I often tell my wife I could easily live in NW Arky. The stream fishing is awesome for smallies(not to mention the trout a bit to the east). All in all VERY similar to east Tn.

Dickson Street is where it'll be going on after the game.
Try out Jose's for the best margaritas and salsa on the planet. And ... GO HOGS!!!
