Great commit!

Im like you with the TE recruits, i think the Goggans kid gets looks at OT. Hope Smith or Stocker can bring that big physical TE play.

no way goggans goes ol. smith will most likely end up ol with goggans as a te/fb and stocker either going dl or te. we are also actively recruiting 2-3 other tes.

If he's a tight end at UT, he's already an offensive lineman.

Walter Fisher has been committed to Tennessee since the class of 2004. He went to junior college where he red-shirted his first year. He will have 3 years to play 3 upon his arrival to Knoxville. I saw Walter Fisher play in a game once and he was the most dominant defensive player I had ever saw in highschool. This guy has a chance to be special.

Looks like UT got their first 5 star commitment.
He's a junior college player ranked in the JC top 50 recruits as the no. 2 JC prospect.  Looks like maybe the next Mahelona.    :clapping:

On a side note, does anyone know why we recruited 3 tight ends this year? Just curious.....i'm assuming they are gonna play somewhere else, like DL or OL.

As said before Fisher was a signee who was placed by UT and at no time has he planned to attend any other school but UT.

Walter Fisher working to get back to Tennessee

Tennessee has already started making noise in football recruiting for the Class of 2006 with a pair of verbal commitments from in-state high school prospects Jacques McClendon of Chattanooga and Lee Smith of Knoxville, but they also have a third in-state product on the way as part of next year's class in Walter Fisher, who signed with the Vols out of Nashville Hillsboro, and is currently at Coffeyville Community College in Kansas.

Nashville's Fisher making way back to Knoxville

Two Februarys ago, Nashville's Walter Fisher signed with Tennessee, determined to be one of the success stories. Fisher didn't qualify academically coming out of high school and gamely headed off to Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. Nearly a year and a half since then, Fisher is on pace to finish up his academic requirements in the upcoming fall semester, and should arrive in Knoxville to start classes in January.

That won't be the problem. A better question is can he break thru the depth chart at DE.

I think he can work into the rotation, provided he proves himself in the spring. His Juco experience IMO, puts him ahead of the incoming class. Who do you expect to start at DE VOL67? honest question. With Hall and Parys gone, Reynolds, Mitchell, Ayers and Brown returning. I ask because im pretty excited about our D front next year.

Yeah, X.Mitchell, A.Reynolds, R.Ayers, J.Hostetter and W.Brown. Adding Fisher to that group of D-Ends, which two start in 06.

here's what I'd like to see for the Dline:

LE Walter Fisher
Antonio Reynolds

LT Justin Harrell
Robert Ayers

RT J. Mapu
Demonte Bolden

RE Tony McDaniel (assuming he's not in jail)
Xavier Mitchell

I'd like to move McDaniel to DE to get more experience across the DLine, assuming he doesnt play any more pick/up basketball in the meantime. Doesnt look too bad, a little inexperienced....

That looks tough...McD, as you mentioned (stays straight) would be a beast at DE.

1. McDaniel is a DT period
2. Ayers is a DE period
3. Where's DT/DE McBride?
4. Where's DT V. Richard?
5. Hostetter if he ever plays.
6. What about DE R. Henderson
7. Don't forget DT Matt McGlothin
8. G. Williams will be back and be at DE

Mitchell and Reynolds start at DE next year

R Ayers is very talented. Don't be surprised if he is playing a lot next year.
