UT needs to recruit a couple of top DB this year

I can't say much cause I'm one of them... but remember the posts in some threads about how we shouldn't take that many dbs cause we're loaded there...... hindsight being twenty/twenty, maybe we should take 2+ not 2 or less....

That was the conventional wisdom at the beginning of the season. But we lost Morley, Berry will go pro, and Jackson could potentially be kicked off the team.

As I am not the recruiting guru, is there ever a year that you do not take a couple of DB's and/or safeties?

our best chances lie with dequan menzie, demetrius wright, ahmad dixon, terrance mitchell, christian bryant and possibly latwan anderson if we are lucky (in that order).

From what i've seen/heard, we lead for Dixon.

Menzie is all but committed to us.

That's two solid ones right there. Not to mention the improvement from Gordon, Myles Jr.

I also believe Jackson won't be kicked off, just suspended for the rest of the year.

I want Menzie the most, he looks solid. I think he could come in right away and have an impact. I hope he commits soon.

I could not agree with you more. the fact that don bosch is his (janzen jackson) attorney is a big clue that he will be around. I would be shocked if he were let go.

Would love to have those 2 DBs and keep JJ. If that happens we will be loaded.:rock:

This is a good list, I did an entire one just of secondary prospects in a thread a while back. I think the only guy you left off is Dorsey.

If Janzen and Edwards are both gone....

Look for UT to go after Victor Hampton again

Reiley, Menzie, Dixon, Wright. That would be the dream team, and I think we have a shot at it, as long as we ban Prius' from Gibbs hall

yeah im starting to feel this too, I don't agree but if he stays then there is definitely going to be a shorter leash

Menzie will be a Vol.

Fulton will go to Bama or USC. Right now USC leads.

UT went after Ryan Ayers a couple of weeks ago. But no interest on his part.

UT is done with Hampton.

UT wouldn't take a commitment from Fulton. We aren't pursuing him.

We will not pursue or accept a commitment from Terrence Mitchell. Christian Bryant is a long, long shot and Latwan is even longer. Corey Cooper is the name that's missing from your list and the order would be: Menzie, Dixon, Cooper, Wright, Bryant. Demar Dorsey would appear somewhere on that list, but I think he has major grade problems.
