If my calculations are correct...

Will Maddox has tied Bill Hatfield (1973-'76) for the 10th most career stolen bases with 51. Should he steal six more bases this season he would surpass Bobby Gaylor, Eli Iorg, Ronnie Hartsfield, Jeff Christensen and Jordan Czarneicki and would be alone at the 5th spot on the list.

Maddox is only 27 hits shy of the elite 200 Club.

The single season record for SAC HITS is 16 set by Bryce Christensen in 1995. AJ Simcox has 12 currently.

Andy Cox is 11 appearances shy of the all time season record, 32 by Scot Drucker in 2004.

Good stuff!

Cox is fun to watch. He already holds the record for the fastest windup in the world, doesn't he?

AJ manages to be an important part of our offense, despite hitting for basically zero power.

Maddox shows flashes of brilliance, along with a few rough patches, but usually just quietly gets the damn job done.

This is a fun team to root for, even though it gets frustrating sometimes!

If Maddox stays, we will make the NCAA tourney next year.

Will Maddox is currently 10th all time in stolen bases with 52...all by himself...5 more and he is 5th.

AJ Simcox had his 13th SAC Hit tonight, 3 away from tying Bryce Christensen's record of 16 in a season.

The UT Team Record for Fielding Percentage is .977, set in 1994. The Vols are currently sitting at .976

That 1994 team was phenomenal in field. Parker, Soper, Wyman, Northeimer, Helton, etc.

I think they led the nation that season. All this on a field that was not as "predictable" as the current grass installed a few years ago.

It was real frustrating for other coaches as Delmonico's offense was designed to pressure the other teams defense and the other coach could never do that to the Vols. We picked off so many inantentive runners on snap throws and the such. The other teams in SEC were well into their "Gorilla" ball glory where they were all hitters and few all-around players.

That 93-95 team was so fundamentally sound. The 95 team made the series, but the 94 team was likely better. The win streaks, the fielding %, the pitching. They won like 17-SEC games in a row and set an SEC record for wins.

Delmonico sort of gave up on this approach a few years later during the Sonny Cortez days as we tried to fight power with power. We weren't able to get enough bashers to compete outside Cortez.

Maddox is at 53 stolen bases, 4 more and he is 5th all time.

AJ Simcox sits at 13 SAC Hits on the season, 3 more and he ties the single season record.

Maddox is at 55 Stolen bases, 2 more and he's 5th all time in career steals at UT.

AJ now has 14 Sac Hits, 2 more would tie the single season record.

Maddox is at 56 stolen bases, at least by my count...That ties him with Jordan Czarniecki and Jeff Christensen for 5th All Time...

Congrads to Maddox. If he comes back he could end up fourth. Mike Basse must be a huge base thief.

Nick Williams makes his 78th career appearance tonight, which ranks second all time in UT history behind only Craig Cobb (85 in 2004-07).
