UT vs. Marshall Game Thread

I suppose that is always the case coming off of a loss. Just like this offseason was terribly slow. At least our recruiting is starting to pick up.

Sure I see everyone predicting 30 point margins of victory, and normally Id say say yeah. And after its all said and done yeah the Vols may win huge. But until Adkins fields an offensive line that can dominate the line of scrimmage I think any opponent who plays tough defense and compitant special teams has a chance for a W. VOLS 16 HERD 14

I don't know if Marshall can play tough defense though. From what I've heard, they will likely stack the box and blitz alot. I guarantee that after the debacle against UF, Cut got onto Eric about throwing to the hot routes against blitzes. I also expect us to go over the top a few times. One play that our defense has been slaughtered with this year is the misdirection(Cal would have killed us with it had they used it more). Marshall's OC is hell bent on not running the misdirection. Their QB also isn't too accurate and could throw a few picks. I'd say we will be able to run the ball better today since the coaches have decided to actually play more than 5 OL. Maybe Coker will see a few carries as well.

It could be worse, you could live in Ohio and not be able to see the game.

Unlike last year, my cable will not allow me to choose individual games, rather I have to buy the entire gameplan package.......

I had the same thing happen, but I ended up really enjoying Gameplan.

I have extreme buyer's remorse, so I have a problem forking over 129.99 at one time. It was a little easier, forking over 19.95.

My wife said she does not care, so we will see.............

I think we'll see alot of work on the run game in the next two weeks and maybe get them ready for a tough UGA defense.....Does anyone know if Foster is going

On defense, bottom line put pressure on Marshall's QB(Do NOT let him make plays with his legs) and Offense make big palys in the pass game to pound them with the run.

I'd say he will probably be good to go for Memphis but we may hold him out for precautionary reasons so he will be fresh for UGA.

If he stays out the next two weeks, he could be tough against UGA......I hope he's ready to go next weekend though, Hardesty kinda makes me nervous, he tried to pull too many moves to get by defenders that makes me nervous

The big question is will Coker play today? Whats the deal with Fulmer not playing him at RB. I mean Fulmer has enough confidence to have him run back kicks. :dunno: I think he likes Hardesty to much. If Coker doesn't get 15 plus carries I will seriously question what the coaching staff is doing!!

I wouldn't say 15 carries but 7-10 depending on the score of the game.

I agree about Hardesty juking and such. He is such a tough runner that he shouldn't have to juke every defender that tries to tackle him.

With Foster out and everyone figuring that UT will try to develop the run game today and Coker will only get 7-10 carries, that would suck.

Hardesty needs to learn that juking needs to come after he passes the line of scrimage. Juke in the backfield only allows the defense to catch up.
