UT vs. UWM?

This was posted on www.wbby.com which is a respected WI prep hoops site. it's only a rumor but Pearl has said in the past that he'd like to play UWM once his guys leave and we have 7 seniors this season.

UWM against Tennessee in 2006-07?

The rumor mill was in full throttle Wednesday evening at the U.S. Cellular Arena during UW-Milwaukee’s victory over UW-Parkside.

The big news on press row was the Panthers’ potential matchup next season against former UWM coach Bruce Pearl and Tennessee. Though nothing was confirmed, sources indicate the game will happen and most likely be played at U.S. Cellular Arena.

I wouldn't be shocked. He's playing USI tonight in an exhibition. Unlike Buzz and to a lesser extent Green, Pearl seems to have positive relationshups with his former employers.

yeah a lot of us here were intrigued by the fallout of Bob Huggins @ Cincy because the AD, Nancy Zimpher, used to be at UWM and she and Pearl got along quite well and a lot of us thought that had Pearl not taken the UT gig he would be at Cincy in a heartbeat for '06-'07. some of us wouldn't be surprised if he pulled a major surprise and inquired about it after this season.

I hope you're wrong about the Cincy job. I believe UT has found what we need...we'll see tonight at 7:30!

After the early recruiting success at UT, I doubt that Pearl would make what at best is a lateral move after only one year. I don't think Pearl is another Kevin O'nell who'll foolishly leave halfway through a rebuilding job and let another coach reap the benefits of his recruiting work.
