UT's rank in SEC recruiting

Will we have the goods this year after everyone signs to have the best recruiting class in the SEC? I know that Florida, Bama, and Auburn have really strong classes. Where do we rank after the dust settles?

;)naw; these kids are comeing to the UT vols. USC burning down now. Meyers is going nuts. loosing players and commitments. The kids want to play for Monty Kiffin, Kippie Brown two football greats. Who would you want ot play for. Meyers (a fruit cake) Pete Carroll is gone to the nfl. Bama is set with players for 2 more years. If you are a new player you will ride the pine before you play at bama.

:dance2: wasn't usc the top in the nation with kiffin as rec coordinator. If they get in the top 5 they will be hard to beat. I hope Simms can play in the SEC. :good!:

If we end up with who I think we will, our class is going to be loaded. Throw in a surprise such as a Rogers or Quarles and we have a chance at the #1 class.

top class in the SEC just isn't possible. however with a numbers advantage Tennessee has a shot to surpass Bama for the second highest rated class in the conference.

A #3 class in the SEC would be top 5 nationally in all likelihood.

As long as we are within spitting distance of Alabama and Florida talent wise, we will start beating them after this coaching staff gets another full class in and has closed the talent gap.

Recruiting rankings don't mean crap! It's all about player development. Someone assigns these guys stars based on potential and their individual statitistics. As you know, many don't pan out. See Chris Donald (5 Star) who basically never got on the field at UT. With that, it is nice to be ranked high as the other potential recruits see that and want to be a part of that #1 class. I'm much more confident that if UT does have a top 5 class that the coaching staff will actually do something with these players. Go Vols!

# 1 most balanced class!!! Fulmer never did this,he just tried to sign stars. This staff,once the linemen start committing will show that they got who they wanted regardless of where we end up in the final rankings ( Top 5). They will then develop these players (another short coming of the Pumpkins) into stars!! GO VOLS!

once they get the beef on these lineman and some muscle mass look out. Simms I think can play now. plus Stevens is no wimp. He can play the game. He just need a winning attitude IMO. and these coaches will give it to him. Give Tyler Bray one year to muscle up and their on the way.

I think UT's class will end up #3 SEC, maybe #2 at best just based on the fact that they will probably take more players than either Alabama or Florida.

We have a good chance of leap frogging Bammers. UF will be tough to surpass. Top 3 is doable

IMO, we are ahead of Auburn. They have more recruits than us, which gives them the higher rank. Our quality of recruits blows them out of the water.

The other 2 will be hard to surpass. But if anyone can do it, our staff can!

NOT ahead of us. :nono: You guys just need to get players that can help, at positions of need. A team can have a #1 cas with 20 5 star running backs. The linemen, especially OL'men don't usually have the STAR power skill players have, but they are the most important.
Alabama won the BCS with better linemen, not better athletes. :yes:

I don't want to discount the contributions of Bama's D Line, but don't tell the Heisman trophy winner, Trent Richardson or Gilbert Arenas or any of their linebackers for that matter. You don't win NCs without tons of speed on special teams or at skill positions.

UT will probably finish in the Top 3 of SEC recruiting, imo.
