I've noticed UT's best seasons have tend to come 3 years apart.

1984 7-4-1
1987 10-2-1
1990 9-2-2
1993 10-2
1996-10-2
1999 9-3
2002 8-4
2005 5-6

1988 5-6
1991 9-3
1994 8-4
1997 11-2
2000 8-4
2003 10-3
2006 ? (8-4)

1989 11-1
1992 9-3
1995 11-1
1998 13-0
2001 11-2
2004 10-3
2007 ? (11-1)

Looking at the trend, 2006, 8-4; 2007, 11-1.

Looks about right....but Phil Steele's trends says the Vols will win the East......I like the sound of that more :cross:

hate to bust your bubble but in 1984 we won the sec and beat miami in the 1985 sugar bowl 35-7 we went 9-1-2 overall.

then dont forget the 1998 national championship

i dont see any trends except mabie we do better on even years.

The SEC title and 9-1-2 record came in '85.
