George Huguely, 22, of Chevy Chase had been the starting quarterback, an honor roll student and a lacrosse all-American at the renowned Landon School.

Yeardley Love, 22, of Baltimore County had been a four-year member of the lacrosse and field hockey teams at Notre Dame Prep in Baltimore.

At some point, they had a romantic relationship. But early Monday, Love was found dead inside her apartment, and a few hours later, Huguely was charged in her death.

Officers responded to a call about 2:15 a.m. Monday for a possible alcohol overdose at Love's apartment, but once there, Longo said, they found Love dead in her bedroom with "obvious physical trauma." The chief declined to describe Love's injuries but said police do not think a weapon was involved.

Pretty crazy. Sad for everybody involved.

If he really did kill her, his life is gonna suck.

Details coming out...

Huguely admits in the documents that he "shook Love and her head repeatedly hit the wall." Admitted to kicking door in with right foot

Court documents in Yeardley Love case are hard to read. There was a "pool of blood on her pillow" and her "right eye swollen shut."

Her bedroom door was forced open and had a hole in it that "appeared to have been made by a fist."

He said he did beat her up but didn't mean to kill her.... Why would you beat up a woman? I don't know what makes guys do that.

I don't feel Death Penalty will be the proper punishment for this guy.
Life sentence in a prison being known as a Woman Beater and Killer will be better punishment.

He will be the the "woman" in prison....

The Commonwealth isn't shy about giving out the gas (err, lethal injection)... but this kid will probably just get prison.
