This was sent to all season ticket holders at Vandy. I would like the VN's input. There is an email address that exists to submit your responses to vandy, but I eliminated that from this post.

As we enter a new academic year, Vanderbilt Athletics has begun a project to help us define the future. While we are very proud of our past and the many accomplishments and goals we have achieved, we must look to the future and strive to improve. In that regard, the Athletics management team has focused many recent discussions on how Vanderbilt Athletics can move from "good to great." While we are fully committed to achieving this goal, it starts with defining "who we are" and "who we want to be"; therefore, this is a journey that begins with a strong Mission Statement. Our plan is to create a Mission Statement that represents all of us, and since we cannot get everyone together for a week to hammer out a working mission, your help and input is very important.

At this time, we are asking you to do the following two things:

1. List three words that come to mind when you hear "Vanderbilt Athletics."

2. List three words that you would like for "Vanderbilt Athletics" to stand for.

We would appreciate it if you only list individual words, even though sentences or paragraphs may be your first thought. Please e-mail your response by July 16 to:

@vanderbilt.edu

Thank you in advance for taking time to be a part of this process.

Go Dores!

my original thought for a phrase: Same Old Vandy.

Maybe there is something else, but I wouldn't know what it could be.

From a UT FAN : and truly answering the question..

1. Expensive, Smart, Competitive

2. Rivals, Facilites!, Competitive

PS. Grew up in Nashville in the 90's.. 90% of football games and basketball games I attended were Vandy games due to cheap tickets..

Will always have love for the black and gold..

I've got some experience in that area.

When I arrived on campus for my freshman year, about half of my residence hall was wait-listed at Duke. There is even a legend that Furman Hall--the only building on campus constructed of stone rather than brick--is some sort of homage/dig/rip-off of the Dukies.

1. Academics, Baseball, Struggle
2. Academics, Rivalries, Success

Oops. I guess I was supposed to insult them. I really would like to see them achieve some level of success so we could have a rivalry comparable to maybe Duke and North Carolina or even Kentucky and Louisville across multiple sports.

Same here. I can't hate. Hey Vandy has won a bowl game since Kentucky has and has beaten UT since Kentucky has. They're better than somebody lol.
