...than Tennessee, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Auburn and Arkansas COMBINED!!

Just read that in a post on ESPN by "Volatile88alum." So I checked it out. It's true. Maybe it has been posted on VN before, but I have not seen it. Sorry if this is a repost of old news.

I just looked outside my window. I think I saw the four horsemen...

(edit: at least they are from the great state of Tennessee!)

There is only so much history you can hang on to. According to 17 year olds... they are on the up... we are on the down... infact not just 17 year olds... i think to everyone... :whistling:

So who cares, I am just waiting to see who the next HC is Dooley Era over next. Vandy and the rest of the league are irrelevant to me, as I hope they all lose out, but alas that cannot be as there are some that still have to play each other. But my point is, all I care about is UT and everyone else can go to hell in a hand basket for all I care.

That makes the SEC the strongest most unpredictable conference in College Football.
It's not easy to win here, Ole Miss also nearly beat LSU.
The reality is after Franklin is offered another job at a stronger BCS school like Oregon , USC, Nebraska , Etc. he is gone! He will not make a BCS GAME at vandy.

I would imagine that's the reason UT is looking for a new head coach.
GO VOLS!

Give the Dores their due praise, but let's not overstate here. Vandy has beaten zero ranked or even winning teams, dodged LSU, MSU, and Bama, and beat three teams in the SEC who are winless in the conference (UT, UK, Auburn). Further, they barely won over Auburn, barely beat a James Franklin-less 2 SEC win Missouri team, and beat a two SEC win Ole Miss in the last minute of play. Don't get me wrong, I wish Tennessee had 5 SEC wins an of course they destroyed the Vols in Nashville. But don't pull a muscle patting Vandy on the back- it's great that they are going to a bowl game and will win 8 games this year, but considering that they did not beat a single team with a winning record all year, let's not bow down to their greatness just yet.

While I think this is certainly an accomplishment for Vandy, you have to take into account who they have beaten. Missouri, Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee are simply not very good football teams - and Vandy squeaked by MU, AU, and OM. They played the absolute worst the SEC has to offer, and got steamrolled by some of its best teams (UGA, UF). They lost to Northwestern (who, to their credit, is decent this year), and two of their seven wins were against very, very, very bad football teams.

Now, Vandy isn't used to this kind of success, and doesn't have the kind of talent that should translate to these results, which makes their record impressive at first glance. Franklin is a good coach who can win the games that a good football team could sleepwalk through, but he hasn't accomplished anything earth shattering

and this has been brought up several times already.

BTW:
Vandy's 5 SEC wins came from opponents with a COMBINED SEC record of 4 - 31

This.

We suck, and yeah great for Vandy that they could end up with 9 wins, but let's not get crazy. They've beaten no one. Ole Miss will likely be their best win, depending on who they play in the bowl game and if they win.
