1. Where has this been all season? The hustle was there, the players looked like they wanted to be there. They were out there having fun and playing hard, that's what we want.

2. Perimeter defense. Despite Vanderbilt being ranked 259 in 3 point shooting, we held them to 3-15 (20%) and our perimeter defense has been awful all year. Good to see.

3. It was one of those games where we were hot all game. Shooting 47% from 3 and 53% from the field is pretty good. We need to play this kind of defense even when we don't shoot well; I hate to see this team suck on the defensive end because their shots aren't falling.

4. It was good to see some production from our bench. 19 points overall. Thompson/Moore/Reese all hustled today, great to see from the younger guys. Sometimes I feel like our older players aren't motivated to play.

5. We held them to 38 points! That's a new record at TBA. Again, good game for Martin or horrible game for Vanderbilt?

6. Bernard King Player of the Game: Antonio Barton. 21 points, 5-7 from 3, 6 assists/2 turnovers and 2 steals. Thats the production we need from a point guard. His hustle was great and his shot selection was precise. Great to see from him.

7. Stokes continues to impress me with his mid-range game. He's improved so much from last year to this year and his game is much more mature. Looks like an NBA player.

8. We played as a team. Big factor into getting the win today. No player was selfish and we didn't need McRae today. We need more players to do contribute besides McRae/Stokes if we want to win in the SEC tournament. Keep playing like a team!

9. Tennessee's hustle and shooting percentages won us the game. Can we keep up the success or will we lay an egg to Auburn or Missouri? Our players came out motivated and the best part is they were having fun. Great to see for our team. Decent win Tennessee, let's keep it rolling.

Allow me to answer #5. We were up 24-6 IIRC to start. Our D TOTALLY dictated the first part of the game and set the tone from there.

That's championship level defense. You play D that way all season, and this is about 4-5 loss team. Hitting our outside shots today helped, but it only made a difference in the final score, not the outcome. This game was decided with elite defense. If this is the new normal, then this team can make some postseason noise. If it's a flash in the pan (as it has been in spots this season), then we're likely to see a letdown soon. Hopefully, the seniors have developed a sense of urgency, even if it did take way too long.

The exuberance of beating a badly under manned Vandy team is a little over the top. Happy for the team and fans - yes. Think this is a quality win or sign of major things to come - have zero idea or confidence that will happen.

If they beat Auburn and Mizzou they may squeak into the tourney. The Virginia win was huge, the Xavier win was big. But look at all of the goof ups. Not a well coached team at all. When they hit the threes at a good clip they win. If the threes are not falling they struggle badly. They have real match-up issues with teams that have good, quick PGs and long bigs that can alter shots.

Hope they continue to do well. Not really expecting it though.

He wasn't playing against NBA bigs today.

Great win.
This game makes you wonder what happened the first time we played vandy.

Exactly why many have issues with this staff. Totally different prep, gameplan, aggression, sub pattern and energy. Same as first Xavier game. Both of those should've been double digit wins and were losses instead due to our mindset of slow it down and pound it down low.

If we played like this all season we'd have about 23-24 wins instead of 18. Great game. ALWAYS good to remind Vandy just how lowly & inferior they are to the Vols!

It is terribly frustrating to know that we are capable of the kind of performance we saw today...but simply haven't seen that for much of the season. It's fairly obvious that we have more talent than our record suggests.
