Can UT and VU just swap ticket prices, I mean it's not like anyone goes to Vandy games anyway.

When James Franklin goes to the media and calls the fanbase out, then follows that up by losing to Mithippi... They have to do something to win them back and entice them in.

CBJ: "We've been down, but we have the best fanbase in the country. That's one of our greatest assets. Thank you for your support."

CJF: "We've been down, but I'm doing something here. You guys suck for not supporting what I'm doing here."

Edit, found the quote:

“It’s going to get up to where it was last year,” Franklin said. “I would have thought we would have been sold out by now. We’ve still got some time to do it.

“I really don’t want to hear about the excuses about we’re in a city and we have other things to compete with. I don’t want to hear about nationally how the trend is that people are struggling to get people to go to games, because that’s not the fact in the SEC, and we’re in the SEC.

So I think the excuses are over and it’s time for us to get out and support our team.”

Back in the day (AKA 2008) I paid a dollar to watch them play Rice 30 rows up on the 50. It still wasn't worth it.

while that is funny I find it hard to make too much fun of them when we had empty seats in neyland, and bama has taken over our stadium the last couple matchups.

Not that its hard to call but I can see Franklin hanging as many points on Peay as possible then going to twitter to point out how many more points they had than the vols.
Good for Butch though to play the depth in the second half instead of going for the 60 to 70 points

Our tickets still aren't selling for the price of a pack of gum.

I don't find it hard to make fun of them. 71-cent ticket prices are a joke. That's a fraction of high school ticket prices. I'd be flat out embarrassed if I were a Vandy fan, and if that were UT, we'd never hear the end of it.

On a serious level, that must be very discouraging to CJF and the players. They work too hard for that (well, Franklin makes bank, but the players...).

If we were coming off a 9 win season, our ticket sales would be through the roof. Ole Miss fans dominated Vandy's stadium in a season opener against an SEC team. Do you honestly believe that would be the case here? Not exactly an apples to apples comparison. Coming off a 5 win season we almost sold out Austin Peay, and that was without giving away tickets for free.

That's inferring that Vandy could score more than 45 on AP-- we won't even go into whether they could shut them out while doing it.

With their 3rd team subbed in the 2nd half.

True but we are Tennessee, an opponent should never take over our stadium, repeatedly.

Meh, it wouldn't stop me from coming (the 9 hour drive does a good job of that), but I can see why people haven't been coming out in droves with the horrible product we've been putting on the field the past few years. All it takes is a little hope for things to be right back to where they were (i.e. the FL game last year).

That is exactly what he is going to do.
