A retired teacher from my school went to the Vandy-Mizzou game. She has a friend that gets her good tickets to Nashville events. Her son played golf for Mizzou so they had on Mizzou shirts. The Vandy ticket guy was a smart$$$ and wouldn't give her the tickets because they were wearing Mizzou shirts. Glad Franklin and the Dores got their $$$ handed to them ... anchors up and that ship is sailing away!

They do give you that bad look on your face if you're not wearing their colors....It's happened to me before but I still got in

First time I have ever heard of an opposing fan not getting into Vandy's Stadium. Not sure it says much about the friend considering about 75% of that stadium is typically away fans.

Weird they would turn away the only people who buy their tickets.

Yes, someone left them free tickets at will call. They wouldn't give them the tickets because they were wearing Mizzou shirts ...

As they shouldn't have and who ever left the tKs should lose their privilege in the future. Same if it happens at ut

been to that stadium a million times and have never seen them give anyone grief

Yep. I went to the Ut game there a few years go on free will call give away tKs. The same discussed here. The vandy employee made me promise I would cover up my orange when getting my tKs. I wore a black jacket until I got in.

The tKs aren't theirs. they belong to the school to be given away to their supporters.

That's not true. Once the tickets are given away, they are no longer the schools. They now belong to whomevers name they are under in will call. That person can then wear whatever they want to the game, seeing as we are in America.

I disagree. If a Utk athletic department member gets tKs for friends for free they better wear orange or neutral colors if they want to keep their tK privileges.

Would you have said that if Malone had worn Georgia stuff to the game Saturday??

Absolutely, my opinion would be exactly the same. Trying to censor what gear people wear to a sporting event is beyond ridiculous.

Also, there was no mention of the tickets coming from anyone in the Vandy AD. Just stated that he has a friend who gets free tickets to many events around Nashville.

Read the back of your ticket. Typically it states something to the effect of, "This ticket is a revocable license granted by the university..... and they reserve the right to refuse admission...."

The fact that this is 'murica isn't really relevant.

If the tKs were free and at will call they came from vandy. No other way they were free

They were free to the girl who tried to get in. I've had people but tickets before and leave them at will call for me. It's actually pretty common

Obviously there are valid reasons one wouldn't get into a game. Wearing gear of another team isn't one of them.

I would tend to agree with you with the exception if they were AD tickets left at Will Call. If the tickets were purchased what's the issue?
