westwords The 76-75 victory over the Volunteers was a rare and dramatic happening. New coach Mark Byington and 11 transfers shared the honor. A miss by Chaz Lanier with 2.8 seconds remaining was decisive. What would have been the tying point hit the back of the rim and bounced away.

"We’ll soon see if the Vols are championship contenders or pretenders. The next four foes are Mississippi State, Auburn, Kentucky and Florida." Exactly Mr. West. I predicted 2-3 before the Vandy Loss, NOW; well it does appear that the Vols were overrated. The "Stars" need to fill their roles.

Tennessee lost to South Carolina at home last year. I thought that would cost them an SEC title last year and it didn’t. This was a bad loss, but not as bad as that one in my opinion. Tennessee is still in it.

I never really question CRB but yesterday I could tell very fast that ZZ needed to come back in the game in the first half with the 2 fouls. Vandy went on a big run and we nearly went scoreless rest of the half. Why not let him play? Maybe it's 50/50 he picks up more fouls and has to sit a long period in the 2nd half but him not playing is 100% if you put him on the bench for 7 minutes. I'm not that good at math but I like the odds of letting him play.

$250,000 fine on Vandy storming court after we can't make a free throw. We don't have to worry about our fans charging "The Summit" because most of our basketball fans are asleep.

Tennessee is no longer the hunter, but the hunted. Tennessee is going to get everybody’s best effort, especially on the road. These guys have to realize that and play accordingly.

Memorial has always been a tough place to win. Strange floor. Shooters tend to have bad games there.
I remember being at a Saturday afternoon game at Memorial. Crews and Chism were freshman. We clanked everything and were 17 down with 11 to play. We all of a sudden got hot and eventually won by 9. Of course Lofton was there and rained some 3s, but Bradshaw hit two critical 3s during the comeback that sparked the team

Good trivia question to me, cause I’m that lazy guy, would be when is the last time UT basketball did storm? I’m guessing Pearl and CLo days.
