There must be a new rule that 5-7 teams are now eligible to go to a bowl?
Apparently so as far as Vandy fans are concerned.

There's like 40 bowls or something. That means 80 teams needs 6 wins. It won't happen. I've even heard UK fans talk about it. Not sure what'll happen.

There wasn't a bowl that wanted Vandy even when they went 8-4 twice. The Florida bowls refused to take them. Those people at Vandymania have no concept of self awareness.

Yeah I was thinking then of the scary proposition. If we got that bowl game at 5-7 and we pride ourselves as one of 2 schools to never lose 8 games in a season. What if we got in and lost our 8th game that way. What would have been intriguing wiuld become infuriating.

I still don't understand why that's something to take pride in. Losing 7 games still sucks but I guess it's acceptable because it's not 8.

Back to the topic at hand, rewarding non-winning teams a bowl game is pretty sad. With that said, I did enjoy the bowl game last season... So I guess I can overlooking it.

As do most teams that go to lesser bowls. I would think Vandy would make money because the "official travelling party" is smaller than most schools.
