Vandy had less than 190 yds today

Not sure how long they will be out, but Jeff Lockridge reported that Vandy lost two players to injuries today. Kris Kentera, their starting HB, and Chase Garnham, their backup MLB.

People so clueless to the talent level of the stretch of teams we just played. We will beat Vandy (whose overall talent level is probably about on par with UT) and UK (whose talent level is somehow actually below ours) and then the same lunatic fans will start right back with thinking we are the second coming of the Purple People Eaters!

If Florida can hold them to 183 yards, we should be able to keep them under 400 yards. If we do that we will win. They allowed that pitiful Murphy to pass for 300 yards, so North, Pig, Croom, etc should have a great day. Gators lost 3 tackles since we played them and it showed (Murphy -44 yards).

Vandy hosts KY next week and that will be two decently matched teams. I don't think Vandy or KY has a good running qb.

Plus, it is time for a little revenge!

Vandy will get 350-400 yards on us in a heartbeat. And then there is our horrendous special teams to factor in. We will not beat them if we do poorly on special teams again.

If you watched the game, vandy went to prevent in the 4th quarter and let Florida have everything underneath since they were 21. Florida had 200 passing yards because of this and then when vandy brought pressure on the last series,as they had all game,Florida was sitting at 4 and 23. Vanderbilt did not have to move the ball because they had scoring drives from inside the 20 three times in the 1st half. When they needed to answer they drove 75 yds for the score. All this without #2reciever Krause who did not dress for the game. Too the other poster in regards to injury, LB Garnham came back in and finished game. Vanderbilt held Florida to 38 yards on 34 attempts. Should be a good game in 2 weeks.

126 yards rushing and 57 passing.

So how did they score you ask? 4 gator turnovers.

I didn't watch because I was at UT's game, but they got the first score, a FG, on a long drive. Here is their starting field position for the other five scores

1. Fla 10 following FL int...TD
2. Fla 22 following FL int...TD
3. Fla 4 following FL int...TD
4. Vandy 13 following punt...TD
5. Fla 20 following 13 and 26 yard sacks and failed fourth down...FG

Hmmm, two scores on long drives and 4 scores set up by gator turnovers.

As badly as the Vols have played the last 2-3 games, I don't see us playing THAT badly.

In addition to the above, Florida also fumbled but recovered from the Vandy 1 with a five yard loss, eventually having to settle for a FG. They also missed a FG and a penalty caused them to settle for a FG after having it first and 10 on the Vandy 17.

I feel a bit better knowing that Florida basically gave Vandy the game.

Vandy went to USC and lost 35-25.

Tennessee came off a bye week and beat USC at home.

Tennessee is coming off a bye week to play vandy at home.

Entirely different ballgames, but maybe that 2 week break is what gave us an edge against USC. Maybe it will give us an edge now.

And are people not remembering that we started Peterman vs. Florida? HE HAD 5 YARDS IN 1 HALF. And not to mention 2 interceptions. Our defense is going to have to show up against Vandy though or they will beat us. And I mean show up for 4 quarters not 1.

I still say Vandy is not the caliber of team as Bama, Mizzou, and Auburn. Extra week off. At home. We win.

Not trying to flame at you at all, but all I've heard, every week, us how our next opponent really isn't that good and basically sucks/hasn't played anyone, etc. The best example was before the Missouri game. I read about how they've beaten no one, that their defense really wasn't that good, and on and on.....and they beat the ever living crap out of UT.

I'm just saying there's no way I'm predicting UT will beat Vandy. I hope like crazy we do, but I'm not falling into the trap, especially after they just did something that we can never, ever do.....beat Florida.

Yes, but there is a big difference between Vandy and Mizzou or Auburn. The last two are legit top ten teams, that both still have a shot at the SEC and even the NC.

Vandy is a team, in spite of it's success, that might aspire to a tie for 3rd in the SEC East. Big difference.

I take it back...I didn't realize that uga's other SEC game remaining, besides Auburn, is Kentucky. I think uga beats UK for it's fifth SEC win.

So the best vandy can do is 4th in the East...and to do that, they will have to beat us.

Not...gonna...happen. :)

vanderbilt's overrated---florida quit early in that game---their players have given up on the clueless muschamp. UT can beat vanderbilt

They beat a FL team that has quit by getting FOUR turnovers.

Let's settle down on the "Vandy is gonna kill us" talk. We have a week to get ready and they aren't a Top 10 team like the gauntlet we just went through.

Be careful when trashing Vandy. They play well within their ability and system and , ( I hate to say this) they play harder than the Vols and they don't quit, IMO. I have watched 5 of their games this year. THEY DONT HAVE TRACK speed, but they are methodical and tough.
