1. The Vols, once again, proved me wrong. I have said all season long that we have to shoot well to win. Well. . . .Coach Pearl found a way to pull this one out even though we couldn't buy a bucket. We continue to OUTPLAY teams, game in and game out. Therein lies our advantage.

2. It is SO GREAT having a fun team to watch and something to do in K-town during the cold winter months after football season. I've been wishing for this since I was in middle school, and it's finally here. If you're at home and not crippled, GET OFF THE COUCH AND GET TO THE GAMES!!!

3. On a similar note, I was a little disappointed in the crowd last night. Only 18K, and fairly quiet early on. I hope we aren't getting "used to" winning. It almost felt like "Footballitis," where the crowd sits there and you feel guilty for standing up. This team is fun to watch, and it needs us, feeding off the energy of the fans. . . you can almost see it on the court. Get up and make noise.

4. Thank you, Major.

5. Holy crap, I have GOT to have a Bruce Pearl Orange Blazer. That freakin' rocks.

The free throw difference is what I wonder about. 35-5? Someone that attended the game comments please.Bert even talked about the 0 vs 11 difference during halftime.Just need to be prepared with an answer in case attacked by Vandy fans this weekend. :banghead:

That was an exciting game last night. I didn't think things were looking good when we were down by 10 but all of a sudden, we were up by 4. The Vols just refused to go away quietly and fought the whole game.

I thought that the crowd was ok. Wasn't the best and wasn't the worst, but they were into it in the second half.

I stood up quite a bit myself and yes, I felt guilty about it. The man directly behind me was on crutches and couldn't stand too easily though. At one point I looked behind me and he was up too.

I was getting worried when I noticed that we probably wouldn't reach 80 points. In the end, the Vols found a way to win this game and hit the important shots when they needed to.

Great win last night. 6-1 in the SEC. Not bad at all.

The refs were HORRIBLE. For both teams, they were extremely streaky. I do not beleive that they had an agenda against either team, however the Vandy players and coaches were really being @$$holes, so that might have had something to do with the 25-5 calls. Stallings got 1 tech and could have had another on more than one occasion. It was a poorly refereed game in my opinion...

The refs gave some cheap fouls both ways, but on other occasions I thought they missed calls that should have been against Vandy. Lofton had a three blocked that the guy nearly knocked him down on and it wasn't called... Of course, this COULD bee all that Kool-Aid talking...

Overall though, I thought Vandy was playing as poorly as the number of fouls that were called on them... I wouldn't go so far as to call it playing like thugs, but something along those lines, but less so. You also have to remember that they were giving fouls in the last min. to try and close the gap.

Another key to their success is the heart they play with at the end of games. They had trouble closing out close games the last few years.

I got to admit, it was not the cleanest of games but still a win. I like how we have a different guy step up every single game. The crowd may have been small in terms of the areana, but they were loud when needed. The post game interview with Dane told the story about the crowd. The team feeds off of the crowd and thanks all of them for showing up and making some noise. I got pretty load in there last night and when all is said and done-we are undefeated at home and I have no doubt that the fans have a role in that. We definately have a home court adv. It is freakin great to have a ball team to get behind here.

Yeah, I have actually lost my voice today from yelling at the officials last night. I still think the crowd needs to be more consistent about getting loud when we are on Defense...

Agreed, but I think that people are just now learning how to cheer for bball around here.

Good point... much like the team, you can't expect the fans to all of a sudden turn around on a dime in one season and start showing up in numbers of 20K+ per night.

Another point on our crowd size. There are more bb games than football. Also, they are played on weeknights so it makes it harder to get out and see them due to work issues. Our students have been great.

17000+ on a wednesday night (church night..old people go to chuch) is pretty good, imo.

There was a decent student turnout, but they came in pretty late on. Most of the crown didn't get in their seats til about 10min before tip, if that.

There really wasn't a big excitement level until a bit through the 2nd half, the crowd picked up and so did the team. Everyone acted a little tired last night.

Ole Miss should draw a slightly larger crowd, imo, because it's early in the day, so it doesn't interfere with peoples saturday night plans. (Let's hope, at least)

I'll be there early, gotta continue the front-row streak
