So we've always poked fun at Vandy's attendance on this site. Joke's on us, since they have beaten us 2 years in a row...nonetheless; since they can't act like winners (as they've never been there before) and have been total, vocal jerks since 2005 or so and especially during the Franklin era, I have thoroughly enjoyed watching their program crash and burn. I got bored earlier and wanted to peruse their forum and came across this gem I had to share with VN - it is a thread discussing their pathetic attendance to their homecoming game. Thread title is Attendance if you're also bored; below is the meat of it.

I will put a positive spin on the attendance last night....The die hard VU fan base that were able to be there, for the most part, showed up. Unfortunately, that was a pretty good snapshot of where we stand as a fan base right now.

This was in the Tennessean online gallery about the game last night:

My guess while talking to my wife at the game last night was around 20K.....

By the start of the 4th quarter there was no more than 10K in the stands......

Just imagine what it would have been like if it wasn't homecoming.

We couldn't fill the stands when we were winning much less now. Our fan base is what it is. I was at the game but I don't blame anyone one bit for not attending.

Now that is bad....They've had a good program for years now, too.

As the article that pointed this out said:

For the pleasure of leading the program to where your student section looks like the above, Kansas will pay Weis $5.625 million between now and December 31, 2016. Oh, and Notre Dame will still pay Weis through the end of 2015.

My mistake I read it hastily and was thinking Kstate

no problem - i also read somewhere to get season tix for Kansas Basketball - they have to buy season foootball tix also. Pretty bad situation there - I would love to see them hire an idiot like Dooley

Weis is pulling off another successful heist. I was never enamored with his Falstaffian (Shakespeare reference) lookin' @$$. He was given way too much credit when New England's offense took off under Tom Brady.

I'm having trouble posting photos but there is a pretty cool one of an empty Miami stadium out there somewhere that would make a good addition. Very good thread.
