I’m definitely a coach H fan. I think he has done and will do wonderful things at TN. He is doing a great job. I would just think that with an offense mind like he has that he would do some wrinkles or gadget plays or you may call it a trick play. We just pretty much line up and run straight up and pass. Nothing wrong with that but I just thought we had times in the last few games to throw the opposing defensive a curve ball. Maybe I missed one or maybe I’m way off. Just a thought.

I would bet every fan thinks this from time to time. The more we see of this offense, the more obvious it becomes that Nico just isn't ready to do that yet.

On re-watch, it struck me how close this game was to being very different. This was a classic rivalry game where both teams played with intensity and the whole "game of inches" thing was really apparent. We had some very costly and totally unnecessary holding penalties. There were some possible holding calls by their OL that were not called. We were very close to getting a sack or deflecting a pass on several plays that turned into good gains for Florida and extended drives. On their punt return that set up the TD that tied the game at 17-17, there was a block in the back on Jalen McMurray that wasn't called. Because they got a good return, it was a net 40-yard field position advantage. The refs make that call and we might win in regulation.

It was just a crazy close game and I think it's obvious that Heupel is trying to do just enough to win and not gamble with a young QB who is still on a steep learning curve.

I felt the same way. On several crucial third downs “ok, if you’ve got a special play now is the time to use it.”

Followed by a run up the gut

I hear everybody complaining about Nico and heup but NOBODY is stating how every single time Nico scrambles for a first or a good gain it is called back for holding… it completely is taking his rhythm and flow and putting him in bad positions… if we would stop holding and let Nico get going maybe CJH could dial up more plays and Nico could make more plays. Campbell and heard have killed us with terrible holding calls on scrambles.

More than 1 issue right now. O line doesn’t protect or missing open receivers.

Yes, the offense is just a click off on most plays, and it seems to involve every position group except RB.

It looked a little better in the second half.
