The 6-1, 180-pound Stokes is still committed to Tennessee, but he has not visited Knoxville since Lane Kiffin took over the program. Stokes visited Ann Arbor the weekend of Jan. 16 and was at Illinois this past weekend. This one should come down to the two Big Ten programs.
Michigan was the first official visit destination for a pair of South Carolina prospects. Four-star defensive end Sam Montgomery of Greenwood visited Michigan the weekend of Jan. 9, but has since taken official visits to North Carolina and LSU and has trips planned to Tennessee and Oregon later this week.
St. Stephen Timerbland offensive guard Quinton Washington made his official visit to Michigan in September. He has since taken trips to Clemson, South Carolina and Tennessee and will visit Miami later this week. Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez was in-home with both Montgomery and Washington last week and the Wolverines have their work cut out fending off other pursuers to land these two South Carolinians.
While Michigan waits word from the uncommitted targets they are pursuing, they also need to do some last minute recruiting to keep a pair of defensive tackles on their commitment list. Four-star DeQuinta Jones of Bastrop, La., and four-star Pearlie Graves of Tulsa, Okla., have been taking official visits to other schools since making verbal commitments to Michigan and could switch their allegiances on Signing Day.
After officially visiting Michigan this past weekend, the 6-4, 305-pound Jones said he does expect to sign with Michigan on Signing Day. Arkansas and Auburn are the other schools in contention for Jones. Graves is less likely to stick with his Michigan commitment. He has recently expressed a desire to stay closer to home and could end up at Oklahoma.
