The artificial turf, painted logos, and completely colored end zone makes Sheilds-Watkins faintly painted checkerboards and green boarder look second rate. Heck, we can't even paint a good power T due to the cheap paint we use.

A far more depressing thing to contemplate on the V-H field today is Georgia's kicking game, which is about as good as it gets in the country. Ours is very disappointing by comparison, and we can only hope that their relative dominance in this area does not become a deciding factor in two weeks.

Ole Miss's offense is so bad in so many ways. The play-calling is suspect, and the quarterback play is totally ineffective. I really don't think Houston Nutt survives this season.

The checkerboard is orange and white, the out of bounds line is white. Make it tough for the refs to see if a receiver is in or out.

That was before my time, but I've seen pictures. I'm not a big fan of the current unpainted border but I can see why it's necessary.

Really? A white and orange checkerboard covering the entire endzone would make it impossible to see if the receiver had a foot down against the white OOB paint.

Just seems like looking back at footage from the 90's the checkerboard covered more of the endzone.
