Unfortunately that dubious distinction belongs to us two years ago when we had Sunseri.
I have never seen a defense not knowing how to play assignments more than in the Duke Bowl game. Not sure why they didn't let the guy go then.... it wasn't a personnel problem... it was purely players that were never taught how to play. The 2012 team had players left over from the previous coach, very similar to the LSU having Crowton as OC for the NC year, left over players from Jimbo Fisher.
My other problem is, if you practice against TAM's offense all year, exactly how good can you become? Jennings is the worse starting QB in the SEC by a long shoot, he is not even close to SEC material... but against TAM he looked like he could do no wrong.
Absent another Johnny Football, I think the teams is going be a wild roller coaster ride in the SEC with little consistence. I actually think if you put TAM in just about any conference other than the SEC it would probably be the best team right now, with their style.
I actually like Sumlin very much, just not sure I like the style of play, basically unless they have perfect QB play its going to be pretty rough at times in the SEC. Hopefully, my comments are not taken as an attack on TAM, trust me LSU has their issues i.e. Quarterback.

I am not completely convinced TAM just has a defensive problem. Again, hopefully my comments do not seem like I am kicking a guy when he is down, I am just not convinced this type of philosophy is going to work in the SEC West long-term.
