"Vereen to Reevaluate Recruitment"

Nah, he's not at all. Don't pay any attention to titles. O wait, you're rex, you'll believe anything if it is negative.

Vereen says that UNC will only offer if they think he is gonna decommit.

Well, you certainly didn't help things by pointing it out. He says he is still a Vol, but then says he will make his decision around signing day. I thought he had already made the decision? Sounds alot like Dwight Jones' recruitment.

I like what little I've been able to read. However, he's from the same area as alot of other very good backs and I can't figure out why he isn't rated higher. Of all the areas in NC, recruits from the Charlotte to Durham corridor get the best exposure.

New article on Rivals.com about Vereen having a sitdown with Fulmer and Roper. How did it go?

Fulmer is really good at eating dinner with the prospects!

THat 's Fulmer's recruiting secret! :)

After meeting with Fulmer he said he was solid to Tennessee but would listen to UNC and have a final decision by Friday.

That certainly sounds solid. Solid does not mean 100%. He is solid. I would say the chances of him jumping ship to UNC are very low. There are recruits that are not even been talked about that will jump ship at all kinds of schools on Signing Day.

Solid means firm, or definite. If something is definite, then it is 100%. If you want to get into definitions, the word you're describing is "probable." Yes, the chances of him switching is commitment to UNC is low, but there is a chance. If Vereen is announcing his decision between Tennessee and UNC on Friday, that is not solid. He may be leaning towards UT, but he's not a solid commitment. Hopefully, he will be after Friday.

I would hate to lose him, esp to a 2nd tier football program like UNC.

If you use that denotation for "solid" then no recruit for any school is solid because no kid is 100% until they sign the papers. However, the word solid does not have a denotation in reference to how it is used in recruiting. I don't know how you got that solid means definite or firm in the essense of future predictions. Those terms, when used to define solid, are refering to a substance being "solid" in makeup.

In a players' mind, they can be a solid verbal commitment or a soft verbal commitment. Obviously, solid would mean there's no waivering, and soft would mean they're not for sure about their decision. Vereen is waivering. He is considering UNC, and that is why he will announce his decision on Friday. He is a soft verbal as of right now. Any more questions, teacher?

hey I'm new here so welcome me :) someone mentioned fulmer eating... anyways not only is Phil good at eating dinner with the recruit, but I heard he washes the dishes too with the mother of the prospect. As we've seen with Harrison Smith, the parents are awful important!
