Looks like those tight wads would make it accessible for customers with smartphones. It would not hurt... our family bill for 2 iPhones and an extra phone is nearly 200.

I watched the SEC network for the first time last night. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Watched the combination of Stinchcomb and Taylor do a very good job at hosting a program. Maria Taylor was impressive, she may very well be the best female sports reporter I've seen discuss college football. Erin "Camel Toe" Andrews I cannot stomach to hear, way to much stupidity spewing out of her mouth, she was better suited for the stripper pole than sports reporting, easy to watch. If I want a discussion I want at least a brain operating the mouth, Taylor, looks and brain, Andrews, no brain, all looks. So far so good for SEC network.

I saw this as well. For the record, Verizon hasn't actually issued any kind of press release that I can find. I think they just leaked it to the press. The company spams my e-mail daily with various upgrade offers and on-demand advertisements but can't seem to communicate when they sign a contract to add channels.

People that have called though have said Verizon reps confirmed it. Some question whether people outside the SEC footprint will get high-def but outside of that everything seems to be good. Should start up later this week.

I'm glad I didn't have to switch to Comcast though. Verizon has its problems but I've heard horror stories on Comcast.

I don't care for Stintchcomb. I've tried but he's just not very good. Only gripe with SEC Network so far is too much Bama, but is anyone surprised?

Hmmmmmmm................Very Interesting.

I asked Verizon a couple weeks ago if they were going to carry the SEC Network like everyone else. I was told they had no plans to change their current channel offerings in the near future. I said that would be a deal breaker for me and that I would probably go back to DirecTV.

And now I hear this?!?!?!

Coincidence? I! THINK! NOT!

VerizonFIOS customers across the country, you're welcome! :salute:

I'm not a fan of Erin's personality either; she has nothing to offer other than pure sex appeal. Sam Ponder on the other hand is absolutely gorgeous and exudes class.

IMO Andrews is about as sexy as a box of rocks, her voice is mousey and irritating. Plus she's a fla homerett. Bet she covers those door peepholes (what happened to her was wrong).

still waiting for idiot comcast to add the alternate channel

Those effers at comcast wasted 4 days of mine trying to install the service, just to tell me they can't because the cable going into the house needs to be replaced.

Gave them another option as to how can get a new line into the house and a workaround. The SOB tech made excuses as that would not work.

Worst experience dealing with those tools. Called uverse and had service in two days. We'll see if I'm still happy with uverse in a year, but so far so good.

What is considered by many to be the best college sports conference in the country has found a home on FiOS TV following an agreement reached between Verizon and the SEC Network.

Verizon will begin airing the channel prior to August 28 on channel 75 and 575. It will be available on those channels to all FiOS TV customers in Florida and Texas that receive ESPN in their FiOS TV package and to FiOS Extreme and Ultimate customers on channel 75 in all other markets at launch.

The agreement also includes live viewing rights and additional live and on-demand content scheduled for SEC Network + across other platforms like smartphones, tablets and laptops via WatchESPN and SECNetwork.com. In addition, the deal also includes rights for the FiOS Mobile app, which will be available to FiOS customers in the near future.

The first year of the SEC Network will feature 45 football games, including the Texas A&M versus South Carolina and the Temple versus Vanderbilt kickoff doubleheader on Aug. 28.

Other games airing within the first year include:

More than 100 men's basketball games
60 women's basketball games
75 baseball games
50 softball games
25 soccer matches
45 volleyball matches
Programming also will include in-studio shows, daily news and information and original content.

The Associated Press preseason college football poll, which was released Aug. 17, features eight Southeastern Conference football teams in the top 25. Now, get busy watching!
