I recently got an LG Stylo 5 for free at Verizon. It only has 32GB of built-in memory but it says it's expandable. What would I get or what would a memory card do for the phone? Is it just a place to store photos that doesn't take up space on the internal drive? Would it make the phone more efficient or slower? Thanks for your help.

You could buy a microSD card for it and store photos/movies or whatever on it. I believe Android allows for some apps to be run from an SD card as well. It's likely slower than internal memory, but shouldn't be that noticeable.

You'd get a 32 or 64GB microSD card for it. It allows you to store photos, videos, music, movies, other various data that would otherwise take up space on your phone. You can store and run apps on a microSD card BUT that's really dependent on the app and it's designers. Some more complex apps like certain games that require lots of resources will have to be installed on the phones storage rather than the microSD card. A microsd card is removable so if your phone ever breaks you can just remove the SD card and still have total access to all of your personal data. As for slowing down the phone, you'll likely never experience any issues through basic usage.

Thanks to both of you. I appreciate it. The only apps I use on a regular basis are my banking app, a "Duo" app for work for logging in, Canon print app, and I heart radio.

The other apps are hotel/travel apps, event apps (ticketmaster, etc), and some shopping apps.
