A new rule makes any pitcher ineligable for the all-star game that pitches the day before. I like the rule so that guys get the proper rest but do you think Jim Leyland should adjust his rotation so that Verlander can play or should MLB put more of a break around the game so that everyone can play?

I agree but I would like to see him in the game. He may have been the starter if he could have played.

Pitchers have a shelf life. Especially guys that hit triple digits. If I'm Leyland, I do everything possible to ensure he throws the game before.

I don't want the horse I'm riding to ever have the possibility of getting hurt in a meaningless exhibition game.

Hell no, to both. If I'm a manager I want my guys pulling a Manny and finding tweaks and strains to get out of the game. Take 3 days off instead.

Verlander could care less about starting in the All-Star game. IMO the A.L. Cy Young is his to lose, plus the Tigers are the 2nd best team in baseball since he pitched the No-No in May, he is eyeing much bigger things. We NEED him to pitch every game he is scheduled.
