They just got done beating SC and have all this momentum going, only to come out and look completely LOST and disinterested against the best team in the country. Now, I knew we weren't going to win that game...but yesterdays performance was one of the worst Ive ever seen from this team...EVER!! Dooleys team put up better fights than that...come on Butch!! That 4th and 7 incompletion in the first quarter was embarrassing. Where was North? Hell, where was ANYBODY?!! They looked and played scared..very disappointing. If we had lost to SC, I could see it and it wouldn't be an issue. But, after that monumental win, you'd think they would have been in the game at least til the half. Total disgrace...so much for that "red team" eh Butch?

Or the people on this board convinced themselves somehow that Bama was no better than SoCar.

Seriously, this is the same team that came close to losing to So Alabama.

This is a team with a little talent, no experience, and no depth.

Don't look at our big losses as "letdowns", look at our big wins as overachievements.

We will get it done, but if you look at our big wins as the norm, you will continue to be let down the next year or two, when you should be excited about what is coming.

Sorry for spelling, phone keyboard.

No, they didn't play as well, but it was a road game in a hostile environment unlike Neyland. Plus we have a lot of freshmen playing. And I'm sorry coach Jones couldn't have run that route or thrown that ball to catch it. Geez, some of you amaze me. We are headed in the right direction. Go Vols. Win out!!!

North almost had 100 yards receiving and was basically our entire offense. Did you watch the game?

Look, Alabama out talents us at essentially every position. We started slow, made a few mistakes, and panicked a little bit. Our QB threw a bizarre pick and hurt himself. Our defense took a terrible angle and gave up a long TD. Bama started rolling early and there's no easy way to stop them on either side.

We made some out of character mistakes on the road against the best team in the country and got burned.

Look if we don't throw a pick 6 and instead score a TD on the last drive of the first half the final would have been 38 - 17.

I'm not happy at all with the performance. No one is, nor should they be. The sky isn't falling. Team 117 learned pretty quick that even though they have played better and feel good about where they are, you can't just show up on the road and expect to play well.

SNAP AND CLEAR BABY! Let's go punch mizzou in the mouth and get a road win against a ranked team!

They did not play with the intensity we have seen from this team, but they did not lay down. They played Bama even in the second half which belies any lay down. I have said it a bunch since yesterday I truly believe we flat out ran out of steam. The hard hitting we are getting use to and special teams play was not evident. The schedule is ridiculous for any team who have to get up for maybe at best 3 opponents. Remember Oregon, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Missouri, and Auburn. Too much to soon.

Sounds like someone's butthurt cuz his precious tigers got their azzes handed to them by a very pedestrian Bosox team. Just shut the hell up and cheer for the Cards like the rest of us you douche canoe. I'm sure Butch will alter his entire coaching strategy cuz of your emotionaloy chardged thread.

Who you think you are, Bob Costas??

Look people, its OK to be a little upset with the staff, no one is perfect. I love this staff and what they are doing for this team and University. I knew we would lose yesterday, but yes, clearly they did not prepare this team mentally for the game. We looked and played completely scared and conservative the entire first half. We have proven we have the horses to put up a better fight than we showed yesterday, so I have to blame the staff on that one. I think the most important thing to take from this is how they will get the team mentally prepared for the remainder of the season.

What, did you expect Butch to beat the No. 1 team in the country just like that? I'm so sick and tired of these stupid, idiotic, unrealistic fans like you. "Dooley's teams didn't roll over like this." Ummmm.... Pretty sure they did, and Dooley never beat a top tier SEC team either, and he had 3 YEARS TO DO IT!

Some of Our fans need a dose of reality. We are not in the upper tier of college football yet. Not even close.

Alabama, Oregon, FSU? 1st Tier

There is no 2nd tier.

The rest of the top 10 --- Stanford, LSU, Texas A&M 3rd tier

Ohio State is overrated but they would beat us handily. We are stuck with our schedule and that is what happens when you play in the SEC. Would not have it any other way. Win it and you have a 75%+ of wining a NC

These are the results when you play 2 of the 3 top tier teams

I hate Alabama and Saban even more, but just beca I hate them does not mean that they are not good.

We will not rise to top overnight. CBJ and Staff will get us there, but it will take time maybe 4 years. You cannot accelerate this process and if you do we it will be a longer.
Recovery. My best guess will be 2016 or 2017..

We seem to forget that this is our coaches with a few exceptions of coaching in the SEC. Plus the schedule is not helping very much either. Truly believe we go to a bowl game this year. That in itself against this schedule is a major step and accomplishment.

Alabama has hammered every team they have played all freaking year. Relax! Yes, we played scared and looked like *&#$. However, that was a damn good red team we played against on Saturday in a hostile environment. This team is still learning how to win, we are literally on the cusp of greatness.

So let me get this straight. Yesterday's performance would not be an issue if we had not won against the Gamecocks. You sound really smart! That has got to be one of the dumbest comments I have ever seen on here!

There's a long ass ways to go before even nearing greatness. We are not even close.

Yes, it was disheartening, of course it was. The team came out flat no question.

But take a step back and consider the landscape. It is undisputable that we are headed in the right direction.

If we played Florida State's schedule this year we'd be 6-2 or 7-1 right now. Unfortunately we don't and we're 4-4. But we are competing, didn't lay down, and we'll end up playing 6 teams that were ranked in the top 10 at one point and 7 ranked teams in total. It's a tall order for a program that's been down and has a new coaching staff.

Go check out the recruiting, that will brighten your outlook.

Butch's first real recruiting class (2014) will have to be at least juniors and most likely senoirs before they will be competing at any sort of championship level. That's providing he follows this class up with similar classes the next three years. We need experienced talent at virtually all positions to be back to where we expect them to be.

The second half was a 10-10 tie, saban played his ones the entire game. The defense showed some grit after being out played and whipped in the first half. bamer was up by 28 and still throwing deep balls in order to run the score up. All the more reason to hate those ''red" bastards.

A lot of very ridiculous people making way to much out of calling them the red team. We didn't call them the red team the past 6 years and they still whipped our butt. It's pretty simple, were an average team that didn't play good and we got beat by a very good team, period. Got nothing to do with calling them the red team! Ridiculous.

We may be closer than you think... To borrow Butch's cliche, football truly is a game of inches and we lacked the quality to win in the trenches (and skill positions too). But we are building and getting better. Alabama made some incredible plays yesterday and we had a very difficult time winning down and distance on both sides of the ball. Time to snap and clear. I give us a good chance at winning any of the rest of the games on the schedule. :peace2:
