I have a hard time saying "happy" veteran's day. To me, it's not a day to be joyous.

I appreciate everyone who ever served this great nation, whether they wanted to or not.

Like the song says, all gave some and some gave all.

Thank you - U.S. Army retired.

Now for a trivia question: Does anyone remember how Tennessee became the "Volunteer State," and thus the UT Vols?

My brother was in the Marines and my grandfather was in the Army. I plan to enroll in the Military after all my school. Thank you, Veterans from any branch, to keep this Country a perennial power above any other country. Freedom is not and will never be free, but we have it because of you guys. You are the true heroes.

Don't confuse Veteran's Day with Memorial Day. Today IS a happy day, one to remember those that served or are still serving......as opposed to Memorial Day, which is the more somber remembrance of those that gave all during service for their country.

Having said that, Happy Veteran's Day to all current and past service members, including my son, my dad, my sister, my brother, and my brother-in-law....from a former Army Field Artillery officer and proud graduate of the Univ of Tennessee Army ROTC program.

Yeah, it's just hard to not be somber anytime we are talking about war.
