I was really disappointed in "Tattoo". I thought it was terrible and was expecting the worst. But, like many other diehard VH fans, I knew I'd be picking this up regardless. To my pleasant surprise, the other 12 songs on the album have rocked my face off. These guys have brought back the 80s and I'm digging it. What are you guys thoughts?

I think the album is pretty dang good. I don't get them releasing "Tattoo" as the single, because it is definitely the weakest song on the album and doesn't do them any justice.

I have to agree. This album is freaking great! "Tattoo" was a terrible choice as a first single but the rest of the album is completely amazing! I love all the other 12 tunes on the album but right now my faves are...

As Is
Honeybabysweetiedoll
Outtaspace
Stay Frosty
Beats Workin'

I've only hear a little bot of it... so far, I'm not that impressed. I'll listen to the rest, hopefully I'll like it better. Tattoo is terrible. I really miss Michael Anthony as well. It's just not the same.

Me and my dad just bought tix to the show in Nashville on 4/27. Had no idea they added more dates and that Nashville was on it. I've never seen VH and am super pumped!

Don't judge the album from Tattoo. I'm telling you, the album kicks! I hate that MA is not with them either but that doesn't take away from how good this album is.

I agree. MA is and always will be the bassist of VH, but Wolfgang did a good job on this record.

Coming from that gene pool, I had no doubt he would! Plus someone made a point that I didn't think about before. The band IS called "Van Halen" and...well....he IS a Van Halen so it's kind of hard to argue against him being in the band, LOL!!

As much as I love VH, if it was up to Eddie it would be nothing but the Van Halens.

Nah, I dont' think MA was ousted because Eddie wanted Wolfgang in his place. He was ousted because of his allegiance with Sammy Hagar. Petty, yes. Political, absolutely. Does it suck? Sure! Besides, Eddie knows all too well that having Diamond Dave in the lineup = more $$$. They've tried the "Charone" experiment before. He won't make that mistake again.

That's kind of my point... even Sammy said he (Eddie)wants to be a singer. He just knows what everybody wants, and that's Dave. IMO, I'm not crazy about Dave coming back, he's hard to watch sometimes. 1984 Dave is a lot different than 2012 Dave.

I'm just hoping and praying they remain intact for the rest of this tour. Diamond Dave has lost a few steps but the man still puts on a helluva show.

Well, the way I see it is that 75% of something is better than 100% of nothing. If Wolfgang being in the band is what it takes for VH to exist in 2012, then so be it.

I'm actually a fan of both Roth and Hagar eras so it's all good as far as I'm concerned. I miss Sammy in the band but Dave as a front man brings that "it" factor that Sammy sorely missed. Not saying I wanna see Dave in assless chaps or anything but he still takes command of the stage with a confidence that Sammy never had. Plus I always thought the blend of Eddie's metal riffing and Dave's "scatman" persona is what made VH so unique and fresh to begin with.

If any of you ever go to the Sweetwater flea market, there is a guy there with a booth of music plaques that was a groupie/bodyguard for VH for years. He has some badass stories and hell even show you his ring the band made for their guys. Pretty cool guy.
